How has noone included the HHR on this list? I came out of the grocery store about a year ago and saw a white one decked out as a Ghostbusters mobile, ladders and all. It was pretty hilarious and, sadly, the additions probably make that car more credible than the original presentation.

The Pontiac Aztek is a brutal car. There's a lady at church who has one.

That said, it stopped being produced in 2005.

I thought about adding it but wanted to be sensitive to DDD's ride.

It does remind me that I saw an awesome tricked-out older model hearse the other day. Called the death mobile, had hydraulics, tricked out stereo, custom graphics, neon, etc. I tried to get a picture but couldn't get my phone out fast enough.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

I actually thought of it but couldn't remember what it was called. It was so forgettable I just called them PT Cruiser Jr.

The best PT Cruiser I've ever seen was purple with flames down the side. I really wondered about the type of person who would 1) buy a purple PT Cruiser and 2) go to the expense and effort to put flames down the side.
            Not that, sickos.

Anybody ever been to Australia? You would not believe how many PT Cruisers are on the streets down under. Between this and their adoration for the pop group ABBA, I really have to wonder about the Aussies.

If you are a woman, driving one of these three cars will definitely impact your social life. Whether or not the impact is hurtful or helpful is up to each individual woman's interpretation of being classified as "loose".

                    Dodge Neon

                    Chevy Cavalier

                    Pontiac Grand Am

The "social impact" of these cars is amplified 1000x if a woman also has a visible tattoo.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. I don't think there is anything really wrong with the design of the PT Cruiser. In other words, if it wasn't trying to be an update of a classic model, the PT is not a horrible design. It is a bit of a strong fashion choice, which is probably one half of the reason it tops the list of 'cars that will hurt your career/social life,' since outside of black and gay America, making a strong fashion choice is generally unacceptable... corporate America demands bland luxury.

ABBA, likewise, makes great music. We mock ABBA because of the collective hangover the disco era left us with, but that was just the 70's, for which ABBA was not responsible. ABBA makes damn near perfect pop music. Maybe the Aussies are just better at looking at these things objectively, and don't put so much weight into the historical baggage.

i think we can probably say anything with a pontiac logo (other than a first gen gto).

I am on record (I believe) as being a fan of the G8. I have always hated Pontiac, but they did right with that car.

The G8 was a helluva swan song for Pontiac.

I'm surprised by all the hate for the Scion Xb.

My wife was completely anti-minivan when we turned in my 1997 Chevy Tahoe under the Cash for Clunkers give away. The car we bought has been very good and it will maintain its value extremely well, but we quickly saw that it was not as ideal as a minivan when our second kid came last November. Since baby #2 is so good (our first was not, she had colic and was difficult), my wife now wants baby #3 at the end of next year.

Currently I drive a car that's a 2006 with 71k miles on it. Getting rid of this car at the end of next year with about 90k miles on it would be ideal because I probably need a bit of an upgrade for some of the professional reasons expounded on in this thread. But the fam car is not better than my car with 71k miles. And now I'm thinking that I'm going to have to unload the fam car (a 2009 model) and get a minivan, rather than just get rid of the older car and start driving the fam car.
