That's correct. Trump also kept prices low in Europe and as soon as Biden was elected he tore down all of Trump's righteous, benevolent global policies that were keeping gas prices low and raised them because he's wicked and God won't protect his people from high gas prices when we use our agency to elect wicked men.

Feeling the pain at the gas pump? The solution is simple... Just stop being poor!
And get you one of those new coal powered cars.*
OK, to be fair... it is only 95% coal powered:

The Brits have something to really celebrate now... The "incredible transition" to EVs is coming thanks to $10/gallon gas!
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...itre-days.htmlPetrol breaks £8-a-gallon barrier for first time EVER: British drivers face 'frightening' 180p-a-litre 'within days' after price at pumps shot from 174p to 177p in just four days over Jubilee amid Ukraine crisis- Petrol prices in Britain have broken through the £8-a-gallon barrier for the first time ever, after bank holiday
- The average price at the pumps hit 177.88p a litre yesterday, weekend's jubilee celebrations down to earth
- Drivers are being warned that 'frightening' petrol prices will exceed an average of 180p per litre this week
But what's this about the Ukraine crisis? Is the "Big Guy" not getting his 10%?

Biden admitted that it is all part of his plan for an "incredible transition" for "the world"...
https://www.nationalreview.com/corne...le-transition/“[When] it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over,” Biden said during a press conference in Japan following his meeting with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
So you best get your electric car and a library card so you can check out a lot of books so you have something to do while waiting for it to charge...
https://www.wsj.com/articles/i-rente...ng-11654268401I Rented an Electric Car for a Four-Day Road Trip. I Spent More Time Charging It Than I Did Sleeping.
Our writer drove from New Orleans to Chicago and back to test the feasibility of taking a road trip in an EV. She wouldn’t soon do it again.
I thought it would be fun.
That’s what I told my friend Mack when I asked her to drive with me from New Orleans to Chicago and back in an electric car.
I’d made long road trips before, surviving popped tires, blown headlights and shredded wheel-well liners in my 2008 Volkswagen Jetta. I figured driving the brand-new Kia EV6 I’d rented would be a piece of cake.
If, that is, the public-charging infrastructure cooperated. We wouldn’t be the first to test it. Sales of pure and hybrid plug-ins doubled in the U.S. last year to 656,866—over 4% of the total market, according to database EV-volumes. More than half of car buyers say they want their next car to be an EV, according to recent Ernst & Young Global Ltd. data.
Oh—and we aimed to make the 2,000-mile trip in just under four days so Mack could make her Thursday-afternoon shift as a restaurant server.
Less money, more time
Given our battery range of up to 310 miles, I plotted a meticulous route, splitting our days into four chunks of roughly 7½-hours each. We’d need to charge once or twice each day and plug in near our hotel overnight.
The PlugShare app—a user-generated map of public chargers—showed thousands of charging options between New Orleans and Chicago. But most were classified as Level 2, requiring around 8 hours for a full charge
[...]
We pull into New Orleans 30 minutes before Mack’s shift starts—exhausted and grumpy.
The following week, I fill up my Jetta at a local Shell station. Gas is up to $4.08 a gallon.
I inhale deeply. Fumes never smelled so sweet.
What are you waiting for? Go get your EV!

Wait, gas is more expensive in Europe, too? I thought this was an American problem created by Biden.

So about the same as what you would expect to pay in California.Originally posted by Copelius View PostBo paid $8.71 per gallon and Mo paid $8.51. Considering what it was when I lived in Germany over 20 years ago, I would say that we here in the States are closing the gap.

Who the heck does UTF-16 and/or UTF-32 encoding? UTF-8 is where it's at.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Post
I read it is ok now to end a sentence with a preposition, especially for casual english, but leaving it there requires 48 more bits of data (assuming 16-bit unicode, or UTF-16, encoding) and even more for UTF-32. So my vote is to take it off.

Y'all get your electric cars yet? It is time for an "incredible transition"!
https://nypost.com/2022/05/23/biden-...le-transition/Biden praises high gas prices as part of ‘incredible transition’
Out of touch as ever, President Biden celebrated record-high gas prices Monday, gushing that the pump pain was part of “an incredible transition” of the US economy away from fossil fuels.
“[When] it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over,” Biden said during a press conference in Japan following his meeting with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
The president then insisted that his administration’s actions, rather than increasing the price of gas, had actually been able to “keep it from getting worse — and it’s bad.”
Only then did Biden pay lip service to millions of Americans who have found themselves spending thousands of extra dollars to fuel up their vehicles.
“The price of gas at the pump is something that I told you — you heard me say before — it would be a matter of great discussion at my kitchen table when I was a kid growing up,” Biden said before admitting, “It’s affecting a lot of families.”
As Biden spoke, the average cost of a gallon of gas nationwide sat at $4.596 per gallon. Several states are seeing an average cost of more than $5, while California’s average cost sits just above $6, according to AAA.

Is there a "What's right with Washington state" thread?
Gas stations in Washington are thinking ahead and getting prepared for memorial day weekend:
https://nypost.com/2022/05/19/washin...n-out-of-fuel/Washington state gas stations run out of fuel, prep for $10 a gallon
Gas stations in Washington state are resetting their price boards to accommodate double digits in preparation for fuel prices potentially reaching $10 a gallon, according to a report.
The move comes as several gas stations in the Evergreen State ran out of fuel, the Post Millennial reported.
At the 76 gas station in Auburn, about 30 miles south of Seattle, gas pumps were reprogrammed so the display could indicate a price of at least $10 a gallon.
