      • Our Frenchie with her pals, two labs (golden and black) and a Boxer. It was a lot of fun to watch them all wrestle and play. I think Vick took the wrong angle, should've just had dogs play fight.

That is an awesome picture! I think French Bulldogs are awesome. Is this true?

Wow. It's just like The Birds. Except with dogs.

Yes, they are loads of fun. She loves to play fetch and is very obedient. We'll play tug with a rope and I can swing her all over the place but the moment i say "release," she does. We also taught her other tricks like bang you're dead and high five.

Frenchies do snore though, so she has to sleep in another room. Also, they're not good at cooling off, so anything above 85 degrees is tough on them. Of course, in San Francisco that happens once a year, so this is a good home.

I had a rope above my head that they were all wanting to chase. The golden lab would win every time, but then our frenchie would latch on and just be dragged around til the lab let go, it was hilarious.

For other dog owners, may i recommend getting an elk antler. Dogs LOVE gnawing on them and it takes them a long time to get through them. It helps clean their teeth and isn't disgusting like a bully stick.

I realize they are probably just trying to be cute in that article, but if I spend even a tenth of the estimated $59K it takes to own a mutt on my dog, will someone please kick me in the berries really hard three times and then confiscate my credit card before calling in a 5150 for me to the local mental health hospital?

Lol. I forgot to add that the costs they list, even for a mutt, are ridiculous. Our mutt lived 16.5 years and we took her to the vet maybe 6-7 times in her entire life. And she ate Purina dog food, off the supermarket shelf. Greatest dog I've ever known.

A Massachusetts couple boating on a lake drowned after jumping into the water to rescue their dog, who survived.
Police say the small dog named Sadie jumped into Hampton Ponds in Westfield on Monday night, prompting 64-year-old Donald Cyr to follow his pet into the lake.
Police told The Westfield News that he became distressed and his wife, 61-year-old Patricia Cyr, tried to rescue him.
Their daughter, Miranda Landry, told The Boston Globe that her mother jumped into the water despite not being able to swim.
"It doesn't surprise me at all," Landry said. "I know that's what she would do."

A pack of pit bulls ripped through the front of a Southern California man’s minivan in a stunning display of force that would make Cujo cringe.
So what drove the dogs to such destruction? A kitty stuck in the bumper area, Palm Springs police Sgt. Mike Kovaleff said Tuesday.

                          • I saw pit bulls face to face for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The owner had rescued them after being abandoned as puppies. I noticed three things about them. First, they are very friendly. They loved human interaction and stayed close to us while we were visiting. Second, they are extremely strong. The 2 that I saw were only about 1-2 inches taller than my wheaton terrier, but when they brushed beside you, you felt it. When I pet them, it felt like all muscle. Third (and I only noticed this near the end of the visit), they had large collars with a black box on them. When they were out of the house with us, so was the owner. And he had some kind of remote control shock device in his pocket.

I don't know if the shock collar was more for the comfort of people or for the dog, but I now have a cautious respect for pit bulls.

They make me pretty nervous. After I saw those two kill a smaller dog in the street in front of our house I don't want to be around any of them.
