Yeah, the cars were a curveball. Most of them were 70s models. But, if you zoomed in, there was a mid 80s Olds Cutlass right above the mailbox. My dad and grandpa were both Olds guys, so I know those taillights well.

I was a couple years off, but the e-scooter in the far right of the picture was the timeline key here. Pretty low res photo for 2023 though. I guessed 2021.

10000 - 0 years, 1.4 m - After guessing the wrong hemisphere on the DiCaprio picture from the other day, I thought of Cannes and found the Carlton. Figured it was in the 70's, but really just got lucky on the year.

9758 - 2 years, 1.3 km - Thought they might be protesting in England, but I selected Oslo near the city hall because the cobblestone and trolley tracks seemed to match. Thought it would be the onset of WWII.

    4612 - 3 years, 6290.2 km - Why wouldn't they want to practice on location? F-ing Vermont.

    ouch

I'm pretty sure PAC talked about where this scene was filmed once, after one of his trips over there, but I couldn't remember where.

    4)5424 pts
9 yrs off - 1151.8 km - was thinking somewhere in England based on the signage, but couldn't place an event that went with it. Should have just gone with Oslo.

Averaged over 9k on 4 but the photo quality and general lack of tech on the hamburg made me guess in the 90s. I also guessed Zurich, which wasn't as bad. Also anytime I see a film that would make the year easy from now on, I am going with Cannes instead of Paris.
Ha, I guessed Monte Carlo (because James Bond), so that was at least close.

    1)
    6608 pts
    5 yrs off
1583.1 km -- I considered the Vatican but decided to pick the cathedral in Gothenburg Sweden. Had no idea what date to pick.

    2)
    8885 pts
    5 yrs off
753.4 m -- The iPhones looked older to me, so I picked 5 years too soon.

    3)
    6547 pts
    1 yrs off
2707.9 km -- Picked Algeria instead of Egypt. Should have noticed how much everything looked like the Indiana Jones movie.

    4)
    10000 pts
    0 yrs off
21.3 m -- What a terrible final score that includes a perfect guess.

    5)
    2012 pts
    12 yrs off
15989.7 km -- I too focused on the Dove or Dover Road but drew a blank. I figured there weren't that many cities that were bustling like that back in the day. I certainly wouldn't have considered Sydney to be that busy. Went with the default NYC.

I didn't study the picture close enough to look at all the clues, but like you, I was thinking of the UK for a minute. But I wasn't entirely sure they'd used trolleys, and the dress of the people looked more like the US to me, so I picked NYC.

45,021, due in large part to figuring out no. 5 pretty well. The Dover sign said Dover Rd. so I thought that was a deke. Also, the women in light dresses made me think down under rather than the UK. Finally, I saw Pitt Street and then remembered our Marriott hotel was on/near that major street (around 75 years later).

Nope I grabbed London as kind of a default. But I kind of forced it in by picking later than it appeared since I suspect London would have been more of a wartime footing in the initial part of the 40s, which the cars led me to believe. But once I had settled on a place, I picked a time to fit that. Unfortunately this game gives you less leeway for time than location, although 12 points for location is probably about as bad as it gets. I was about where you were at. Total of 36,800for the day.
