it's unclear when onset occurred. I'm guessing it was long before his public announcement but I'll probably find out later today as he was a consultant to my daughter's and SIL's company. Sobering news, as if we needed more of that....

[Edit: I've learned my guess was incorrect and that he was a very fast progressor. My daughter and SIL report his was an unusually aggressive form of the disease. Mrs. PAC says for the first time in her life she's happy she's slow....]

    • Robert Carradine (Revenge of the Nerds, Cowboys) has passed away by suicide after 20-years of Bi-polar disorder. Brother is David Carradine (Kung Fu), Keith Carradine (Dexter & Deadwood) daughter is Ever Carradine (Handmaide's Tale). Pretty strong legacy in his family.

      • This was comes to close to home and is a gut punch. Most likely none of you do not know him, but as a kid from Arizona who spent many summers at ASU Wrestling camps and having him swing by my schools for our local camps, you grow close to a coach and idolize them. Coach Bobby was that guy. What he did for ASU has never been repeated.

Wrestling lost a true pioneer this week.

Bobby Douglas passed away at the age of 83, leaving behind one of the most impactful legacies in the history of our sport.

        • 2× Olympian (1964, 1968) – 4th place in 1964

        • World Medalist – Silver (1966), Bronze (1970)

        • First Black head coach at a major U.S. university

        • Head Coach of the U.S. Olympic Teams (1992, 2004)

        • Led Arizona State to the 1988 NCAA Team Championship

        • 427 career dual wins

I still remember the days in Tempe seeing him in the wrestling room at ASU and Sunkist Kids. Having come up to Payson as well.

        RIP Coach.

                He was 79

I may be small, but I'm slow.

The most shocking part of this is that he was only 79.

                  • Who heard of Paul Ehrlich? Professor at Stanford that wrote doomsday books on overpopulation and the earth will be depleted. Humans damage the earth. People in other countries don’t have ac, use tractors and the like. Rush called him out on his hypocrisy as he didn’t live that way. When prophecies failed he just tried to cover them up. He is gone now.

No, I'm pretty sure the hospital has been admitted to Chuck Norris.

                              • Robert Mueller, at 81, from Parkinson's Disease. He was a man of integrity, highly respected by both parties (W appointed hiim, Obama re-appointed him), and the longest-serving FBI director since Hoover. But Trump and his witless supporters spent years smearing him, culminating in this reaction from Trump today: “Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead, He can no longer hurt innocent people!” That kind of vile comment will get the usual blithe "Bad Trump!" from some, but Trump is deserving of much stronger condemnation than that. Anyone who is proud of our President, and there are several on CB, needs their head examined.
