The Great Santini is gone. Robert Duvall at 95. A great career with so many good to great movies.
It's interesting how many such reports say the person "died peacefully," often surrounded by family, as we crave the idea of a calm, uplifting departure. You never read "choking violently while others scrambled to jump start his heart," or similar horrific (if often more common) ending. Good thing.Comment

Back in the 70s and 80s Jesse did a lot of good things in Chicago, and he had a very positive message. My Eagle project was done in partnership with his org. I didn't always love "National Figure" Jesse Jackson but he's always had a soft spot in my heart.Comment
