Hang in there, things will get better.

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

I think my advice is still helpful.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Just a thought - has thesaint checked in here since writing that post yesterday? Not that he's obligated to, especially when he's feeling so down. Just curious to see how he's doing today.

            Take it easy thesaint.

Thanks for the warning. I had no idea what I was getting into by just looking at the title of the song. I appreciate the heads up.

No, I'm not exaggerating in the least. A little over two years ago, the girl I was madly in love with and I broke up. Basically, we'd been together for two and a half years, and it got to the point that we either needed to get married or break up. She couldn't say yes, so break up we did. Ever since, not a single aspect of my life has worked. Ever since, I've been in my own personal hell tailored specifically for me. My absolute worst fears have been realized. Every time I've tried to turn things around, I've been slapped down and met with failure. I kept getting back up though, no matter how hard it was. Inevitably, however, I'd get slapped back down as soon as I got up. Today I was hit by the final blow.

Yesterday was the aforementioned girl's birthday. She cares a lot about that day, so I thought I'd just send her an email saying Happy Birthday. This afternoon she replied and said that she's engaged. Though I knew it was a long shot, I'd held out some hope that we'd get back together because of several people I know who broke up and got back together years later. Well, that last little bit of hope was unceremoniously crushed. My faith ran out a long time ago, and all I had left keeping me afloat was that little hope that Stacy would want to get back together. Now that that's gone, I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

Ah well. Thanks for letting me vent.

You know what, this seriously will be remembered as a great day. No, I am not kidding. Now you realize that it is truly over. You can start looking at girls and dating girls without it hanging in your mind that you may want to go back to this girl. She is now completely off the table and you are free to really see what is out there.

There are tons of women out there and you are going to find one that makes you happy and that you realize that you are perfect for...this girl, over the past couple of years, was simply a weight around your neck dragging you down and not letting you enjoy the options that are awaiting you. Go get her and celebrate the day you that you finally were free. Good luck.

Hang in their saint. I broke up from an engagement when I was twenty two and thought that maybe having meaningless sex with many different girls was the answer to getting over it. I found out it wasn't but it was a lesson I needed to learn.
