Do other universities have their own police force?
That's an interesting issue for BYU - open records. BYU is probably not that excited about sharing records with the state and certainly is not in the habit of doing it on a regular basis like the public universities are.

Do other universities have their own police force?
A lot of campuses have police, but I don't know if any have been decertified. Without actual policing power, I imagine they will be just a bunch of Paul Blarts (which is basically what they were and my guess is why they are getting decertified). I had several incidents with campus police in my time at BYU resulting in having to do 160 hours of community service. Not my favorite organization but I am biased.

Now that sounds interesting. Dish, please.

Yes, please. Did Flystripper make an appearance in Police Beat?

Incident number 1 - According to the police I instigated a riot which created an environment that could have led to property damage. The riot began as a slice of pizza smashed in my friend's face as he was bragging about his American Heritage grade to a nice looking girl (NERD!) As you could imagine he retaliated and others were splashed with food and someone yelled "food fight" in a raspy Belushi shout. 10 minutes of chaos ensued in which the DT cafeteria got pretty messy. The cafeteria employees couldn't get control of the fun and so the campus police were called in. I probably deserved to get in a little trouble but the punishment was over the top. They threatened to kick me out of school....
Oh man, what will happen to Police Beat if the BYU police are decertified? Security Beat just doesn't have the same ring to it.
They could just call it "Police" Beat.

Not that my opinion carries much weight, but smashing a slice of pizza in the face in a cafeteria does not constitute inciting a riot. The kid who yelled food fight is the one who should be in trouble. Flystripper, you're innocent!

Statute of limitations has expired soooooo here it goes. Freshman year we got the master key to our floor in DT and emptied our RA's room of everything and set it up in the community bathroom. We then borrowed a goat from the BYU dairy and put it in his now empty room. We then waited and attempted to act nonchalant when he returned. He was pretty pissed and it was pretty obvious that at the very least we knew something. He and Ma Bell (not of the ill communication variety) called BYU police. They interrogated us but we all stayed strong (deny deny deny) as a result we all got community service based on strong suspicion and not proof.
