When we lived in Frederick, MD we had these types of storms come through and snow us in. We had two back to back like these one year. Dug out, and then got snowed in again. Each time we hunkered down and watched this:

PBS The American Experience: The Donner Party

      This is one great story.
      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

            Wow. Good luck.

I seriously doubt you'll have that assessment this week. The government was shut down again for Wednesday and they may just decided to keep it closed the rest of the week.

Everything is code red. I am surprised your oral exam wasn't rescheduled already. Only essential personnel are supposed to report. I am supposed to go to Rockville on Friday and I am hoping I don't have to.

They just upgraded our storm warnings to blizzard warnings until 7pm tonight. They're expecting gusts of up to 50 mph. It's really coming down and blowing where we're at 50 miles south of DC. It's going to be messy up north once it starts there, especially if the wind causes the snow to drift.

It's snowing sideways at my house right now. We have another 8 inches on the ground and it's not letting up.

You guys are getting hammered up there. I saw on the news they were allowing snow to be dumped in Inner Harbor because they have no where else to put it.

I've done my first round of shoveling this morning. It's a glorious GotomyPC work day at home with the kids screaming as my "what are you listening to" thread entry for the day.

It's my experience it's a lot easier to shovel six inches three times than 18 inches at once.

Pro's and Con's to living in a Apartment...

                            Pro:
I don't have to shovel nada..

Con's: I get stuck with digging my car our every freaking day..

On a side, note I haven't even dug my car out. I haven't driven my car in over a month (Well, on the weekends I run errands) since I have decided to walk to the bus stop. That has been sweet and been great on our monthly gas bill as well. And been healthy activity everyday..

I bet Commando's assessment hasn't been canceled yet because those folks haven't been in to work for six days.

With that weather, the government will be closed again on Thursday, making a Friday opening very dicey. Plus, I wonder if his flight into DC will even make it.
