I'll have a lot of shoveling if she goes into labor at this point.

24+inches, still coming down. Looks like the worst is over but we'll likely get another 5-6 inches before it's done.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

We just got about a foot, but 30 mph winds make it pretty unpleasant.

Have Gidg do the shoveling. It could help induce labor and you have a clean driveway. Two birds with one stone.

I know, I just did the back walk to the alley. Took me an hour and I'll have to go over it again when the storm is over.

Spent close to two hours digging out our car, clearing it off, and then shoveling the driveway. And that was three of us with shovels. By the time we finished there was already an inch of cover again and it's continuing to dump. And now I check the weather and we're supposed to get snow on Tuesday and the temps are to stay in the low 30's all week.

Don't you guys have snowblowers. I can do my driveway and walks in 15 minutes, if I feel like it.

Most people here don't have snow shovels. Thursday we went to Home Depot to pick up an extra one and they had a shipment of 300 come in that morning and were sold out by 11 am when we got there.

I saw a few with December's storm, but that would be a waste of money here as it rarely snows.

In december I went out and bought a coal shovel, I wasn't going to be caught in another storm with a flimsy plastic thing. I'm glad I did.

I don't think we'll get a warm rain storm to melt this one away. I worked all afternoon and my car is still half buried. Our neighborhood looks like a WWI battlefield with all the trenches made. There's no place to put the snow so all of the front walks are trenches with walls four and five feet high.

Did the plow pass by your way?

No plow yet. Our neighbor across from us is a pilot for Jet Blue. He flew in to Dulles from NY last night at 1 AM. He said the roads were a mess. He tried to make it into our subdivision but got stuck. Fortunately he was able to back out and make it to a road that runs behind our subdivision. It was plowed because there is a state trooper station there and they deploy plows from there. So he parked his car at the end of the road and hoofed it through a farmer's field to his home.

You guys should clean off your roofs and pile the snow in a couple spots. It's a lot of fun to jump off the roof into a huge pile of snow.
                              Not that, sickos.

My roof has a huge ice dam that's just waiting to fall off and kill the mailman. Ralphie's lie in A Christmas Story come to life (or death).
