That's her. I notice that she's used all over the internet whenever there's a "news" angle to advertising.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

For the fanboys (and fangirls)...
Apple gives a hint about the name of its new Mac OS X:

I was kidding about 7.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostEven more. I run windows for the 1st month or so when I had both os installed. But I made the full conversion, and I love it.
I actually was talking about my Mac being loaded. The only thing I don't have is a solid state drive. I could never afford this computer."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

OK, so I am toying with the idea of getting an iPad. My initial inclination would be to hold out for version 2 but that may be a long wait. Anybody hear any rumors on production plans? Ted, you still have some inside contacts at Apple?
I figure I could run the wifi tether app on my android phone sitting in my pocket and have an internet connection anywhere. I will never suffer from a boring work/church meeting again. I just need to be careful where I sit; always pick a remote corner."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

let me help you with that. stop considering it and go get one. they are a lot of fun, although they are not a serious working tool. I do have some gripes about it, but lack of camera isnt one. I just dont do a lot of video conferencing and the iPad is too big to function as a practical point and shoot camera. My main gripe is the lack of flash....it is tough to watch videos, porn, etc, although more and more sites are fixing that to be compatible with the iPad.
Also: the secret for Church browsing isnt found in your tether app....instead, make friends with the ward clerk or whomever it is that is in charge of the wi-fi at your chapel. I think the Church prefers wards to hide their signal, so when you search for wi-fi, you never see it as an option. Have the clerk fix it so that you can see the ward wi-fi signal and then you will be set (I dont know how it is done...he takes some sort of code/key from your machine and does some magic mumbo jumbo and then you can see the wi-fi as an option). It is much faster than 3G.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Apple usually releases new versions yearly. Sometimes it's a bit more, sometimes less, but every year is a pretty good approximation. IIRC the iPad came out in April, so the new version should be out in about six months or so.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostOK, so I am toying with the idea of getting an iPad. I'm waiting until version 2 to buy an iPad. I'd heard rumors of it possibly coming out by Christmas, but that would be a bit early. Early next year is more likely.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostOK, so I am toying with the idea of getting an iPad. I noticed that there will be a new OS for the iPad in November. Any chance they will add Flash support then?Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Postlet me help you with that. stop considering it and go get one. they are a lot of fun, although they are not a serious working tool. Our church wi-fi is visible but password protected. But the new clerk is a good friend so maybe I can bribe him.
I will probably get an Evo in November so I will have 4G tethering when I need it."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I am hoping they will add flash, but wont that capability be pushed to all iPads? You wont need v2 to enjoy that.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI noticed that there will be a new OS for the iPad in November. Any chance they will add Flash support then?

I work right by the Apple store up here so I pop by frequently with questions. One of the iPad reps walked me through some of the updates that are coming out for the device. I didnt understand the technical ones, but one that I did appreciate was the ability to group apps into folders without jailbreaking it (much like you can already do on their iPhone).
Apple comes up with really nice ideas but then makes these major common sense blunders that it eventually winds up having to alleviate, anyway.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Jobs has said he won't ever put flash on the iPad. Too many virus issues. That's a bummer though because I wouldn't mind watching some of the old BYU games on BYUTV while I'm sitting in the airport. My work just bought all of us an iPad as a bonus. It's been fun to play with, but I'm having a hard time figuring what I'll do with it other than that."To the man who only has a hammer, everything he encounters begins to look like a nail."
