Apple Jan. 27 launch event... what will it be?

Usually iTunes updates the day before. I haven't seen a non developer update yet. If the release is tonight, I would hope the iTunes update is soon!

The original schedule had it releasing friday. The iTunes update got pushed back and then there was a huge OSX update Friday as well. New iOS4.2 release date is scheduled for the 22nd. Tentitively.

Yes. Church will never be the same.

I got the 64 bit wifi model. I came to church with a $20 bill ready to bribe the exec sec, but I was able to lock in the wifi with no password. Go figure.

I don't need 3G because I can tether with my phone when I don't have wifi access. I tried it already and it works like a charm.

Of course vzn will get the iPhone soon because I finally got tired of waiting and switched to AT&T last month. I'm pretty sure that's what they've been waiting on. Sorry for the holdup everyone.

I just read this on an apple rumor site:

"There have been no specific hints as to what the announcement might entail, but Apple has of course long been rumored to be moving to a cloud-based iTunes where users' music would be stored on Apple's servers and streamed to a variety of Internet-connected devices. Apple has also been rumored to be working on a subscription-based music service that would complement the existing pay-per-download service.

Either of those services could be supported by Apple's massive new data center in North Carolina that is set to go online by the end of the year."

I don't rip music, or download illegally. The only problem I will have with it is the "what if" factor. What if there is a glitch on their end...do I lose my music forever?

We are getting ready to start swapping out some computers at the house this next year...and iTunes was the biggest headache I have when it comes to the switch.

This would be awesome.

And it solves the problem of family and home and kid at college. Just authorize the iPods that can use the cloud file.

What a letdown. The big announcement is the ability to purchase online some music that everyone already owns...but this time with DRM restrictions. Hooray.
