Not to mention, Bynars like their music straight up, in binary, and don't even need the DAC...

      Welcome to the 21st century!
Yeah, that was mentioned in the article I linked.

You know what else has been around forever? AC power. Next I expect Apple to come out with an entirely new power plug. There will be some argument about how it is superior and Apple will offer their own outlets to replace the old ones at some outrageous price. Or some overpriced adaptor.

        Sorry.
That is the sad thing. I would have to have to go back to crappy Android phones.

Dude, you are still in the 19th century. The future iPhone may not even need AC power.

Haven't you seen The Prestige? Edison was clearly at war with Tesla. He even sent his henchmen to destroy Tesla's lab in the mountains of Colorado. But that was before he figured out how to replicate magicians.

Did your Wikipedia article mention that? Huh?

I'll check out the link later, but one of my children read a biography on Edison a couple of years ago for school. I learned a lot while reading it with her. Edison was a proponent of DC current and envisioned DC plants throughout NYC (think 7-Eleven-like coverage). AC proponents preferred the idea of power generation farther away from the city. Edison tried to scare people away from AC by doing things like electrocuting horses and other animals on street corners.

Tesla had worked for Edison but later struck out on his own. Westinghouse owned the AC company, but I think he was using a lot of Tesla technology to generate and deliver the AC current.
