On the con side, there's no watch podcast app
With more than 12,000 watch apps you would think there would be at least one podcast app.

What is it that you don't understand? It is a remote... I can use it to take selfies pics without one of those stoopid stick things that they outlawed at Disney World. Or as a remote for my Apple TV when I can't find the one that came with it. Do you watch movies on your remote control?

You should get one... and one of those new Apple TVs.
Can the Apple Watch still not function independently from an iphone?

Yeah I saw this article later on. There are options, I'm just disappointed that the apple app isn't supported.

No, the screen saver app still works when I turn off my iPhone.

Can't answer for the iWatch, but with my Samsung the screen turns on whenever you rotate your wrist to look at it.

But you can't receive/send texts/emails/calls/etc without your phone?

                    Yeah, maybe in iOS10/WatchOS3.

                    • I tried one for a couple of weeks but ended up returning it. For it to be useful, you have to wear it all the time, and I like my mechanical watches too much to put them aside. It can be a pretty handy gadget, though. The second version will probably be pretty cool.
                      Not that, sickos.

No. It is a bluetooth connected remote for your iPhone that has a screen saver that looks like a watch.

But it is pretty cool and Siri really works well on it.

                          That really sucks.

I don't. I also don't use my remote to tell time. Or listen to podcasts. And I sold my Apple TVs.

Good move... now you can get the new ones: A8 core, app store (i.e. games), and the cool Siri remote that doesn't tell time or play podcasts. Spend the money on the 64G version. You'll need it for all the apps.

Edit: And don't forget to pick up one of those new iPad Pros with an Apple Pencil next month.

                              • I used to have three Apple TVs. Dumped them all and got Roku devices. Couldn't be happier with the switch.
