I love my mini cover. It's black leather and stays in place with magnets. I can't find a brand on it but will look and see if I can find where I got it from.

Sounds like I need to upgrade to the mini retina but I dont think I am as G as JeffLebowski because I would only buy one.

I assume you mean the standard Apple smart cover?

I haven't ever used one of those. Seems a little too minimalist, but I like the fact that it would keep things light.

Also, just got a new MacBook Pro w/ retina display. Probably more computer than I need but, so what.

Not too recently I hope. They have a new model coming out on Tuesday.

I got one last January. The more I use it, the more I like it. Fantastic laptop.

Actually very recently. Fortunately I have 14 days to return it and get the newer model.

Then you should most definitely take it back. The new version will have the new Haswell chip. CPU speed is only 15% better but you get almost 50% more battery life and 100% more graphics processing power. Also, the hard drive should be 50% faster (this would have a major impact on performance). With that new battery life you could use it like an iPad. Only plug it in at night if you want.

I am going to get one and pass mine down the food chain at work. Yeah that's how I roll, DDD.

Yes that is the one. My first iPad had a leather cover that now, in retrospect, makes the pad look like a brick. I wanted to keep things sleek and simple so that standard cover seems to work just fine for me.

haswell is dope. no more carrying around a charger.

My daughter got a 13" Macbook Air with the Haswell-based core recently. The thing runs all day without a charge.
