Reading the first couple of pages of this thread is kind of crazy, it is hard time remember a time before seemingly everyone had a tablet. That was only 6 years ago.

I got a kick out of this article. Not just against the iPhone 7, but current design trends in general. A fun read.

Like, nobody likes this! Nobody! Not a single person thinks this is good, or even “minimalist” design! You have a giant tube hanging out of your ear because that’s where the five hour battery goes — and you have to wear two of them! Apple has been doing this for years now, and the rest of tech has quietly followed after them, for the most part. Do we need to talk about smartwatches?

i like the new notifications thing and the lock screen. messages seems cool, even if it's cool because they stole features from whatsapp.

Samsung may also remove the headphone jack from its smartphones



Apple’s decision to remove the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 (and likely all its other devices in the near future) is clearly about control. They want to own the headphone market and don’t really care if it upsets consumers in the short term. And it looks as though this may not be the last upset because Samsung is apparently now considering doing the same thing.


Instead of having to carry one adapter with your headphones, you could soon have to carry two. That’s because if Samsung does ditch the headphone jack it will replace it with a proprietary port.

It made me shake my head and smirk as I sat at my desk listening to music on my wired ear buds while my iphone 6 was charging with nary a dongle in sight.
