No. It's a very simple installation. What I will need to have done first, of course, is to get a wall outlet installed within the toilet room, but after that it'll be an easy installation.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostDon't you mean, "have mine installed?"Visca Catalunya Lliure

I recall Space Ghost had a problem that looked like this at his condo at BYU when the main sewer line from all the complex was blocked. All the sewage from the entire complex came up in his downstairs toilet. The stuff was running out his garage. I reminded him that a civil engineer like himself should know better than to buy the condo that was lower than everyone else's in the complex. Sh*t water runs down hill is a basic law of engineering.Originally posted by wally View PostHoly crap how did I miss this thread.
I feel compelled to warn everybody here regarding disposable wipes. While they are heavenly on your nether regions, you are risking a plugged sewer lateral.
Wipes (even those labeled as disposable) do not degrade in water as quickly as typical toilet paper. When used in moderation, they are fine, but used in excess you could risk a backup.
Here is a worst-case scenario: A backup occurs in your main lateral, while you are out on an errand. Having left the washing machine on (assume a water guzzling tub washer) and reaching the rinse cycle, water is rapidly forced out of the basement toilet:
Also, if you home is on its own sewage pump or septic tank, copious use of wipes is not advisable."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Sorry, but you forget--we wipe EVERY time we go to the bathroom and flushable wipes don't make sense when you are wet and trying to be dry. They work well for the job No. 2. I think as long as you have females in your house, you will always need toilet paper.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostI have been tempted to tell my wife to stop buying TP all together lately. So I decided to weigh the attributes of each.

Flushable wipes
- job done with less material
- comfortable
- 95% recyclable material
- Roughly $0.04 a wipe

Toilet Paper
- More material to get job done.
- uncomfortable
- 100% recyclable
- Roughly $0.025 a wipe.
Based on my initial data, I am leaning heavily toward flushable wipes. Is there anything else I should consider? What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

I've read this far. Two comments. 1) seriously, toilet paper is uncomfortable. enough that you're making a business case for replacing it 2) i appreciate the thorough analysis you've done on cost per wipe.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostIt is factored at 1 and a half feet for TP. For the flushable wipes, one square. Per wipe = 1 pass. With TP you are looking at 4-5 passes. With Flushable wipes you are good with 3.

The Amazon Mom price is $24.16 with their subscribe and save discount. You just "subscribe" to the wipes for a month (initial order) and then cancel future deliveries.Originally posted by pellegrino View PostAlso, Dapper Dan, how do you use Amazon mom and get it down to .02 cents? My calculations show that link to be 3.5 cents per wipe.
