Yes, zone defense takes a lot more skill and coordination than the simple man-to-man defense.

you are forced to run a zone D instead of a man-to-man. It is hard to rebound out of a zone.

SupberGabers, I think the age difference you have going for you is perfect. I am (so it seems) the only person who had an easier time going from 2-3 than from 1-2, but I think it is because my 2nd and 3rd are more spread apart -- almost exactly 3 years apart. I like the 3-4 year age gap between each child.

        Best of luck to you!

Nothing was as hard to me as going from 0 to 1. It turned my life upside down. Adding one more was nothing because my No. 2 was an easy-peasy baby. Adding the third was definitely an adjustment, but again nothing like going from none to one. In my opinion, you have already tackled the biggest adjustment. You're an old pro. You'll be fine.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

This was our experience. Nothing compared to the shock of the first.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Gabbers, breathe. You'll do fine, and I will support what everyone else says about the first being the hardest. Frankly, they all kind of freak you out right before they get here, but then they come and you begin to adjust.

Just relax and enjoy them. Their troubles are small and easily fixable. The hard part will come when you begin to count backward.

I agree with our beloved cowboy.

My wife had this discussion when we had our third and we came to the conclusion that the first is the worst, but the second is far from the same. You'll be surprised at how muscle memory kind of takes over and you remember things you forgot.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

Our first two kids were five years apart, so our biggest apprehensions were how our five year old would respond after being the only child for so long and also realizing we had forgotten a lot of things about taking care of a newborn.

Yeah, Jarid should be on stud somewhere. I'm talking like mad to try to avoid #5 (Mrs. Cowboy has that baby-hungry look in her eyes that is scaring the crap out of me,) and Jarid & Co. look at a family with 5 and chuckle at the greenhorns.

Thanks peeps. I need all the encouragement I can get. I can't really pinpoint it, but the nervousness I am feeling with this one is different from when we were expecting our first. I guess I am mostly worried about the exhaustion AND having to keep up with Charlotte. Luckily, she still takes naps...
