    A Little Freaked Out...

So UtahDan and I have slowly transforming what was our little girl nursery into our soon-to-be little boy's nursery. There are still a few things to do, but we are pretty close...

    However...

The other day I went in there to admire our work and had to quickly turn around and leave the room because became overcome with fear. I am a feeling a little freaked out about having two kids... A busy three-year old and a dependent newborn...

So. You parents out there who have transitioned from one to two kiddos, what were your apprehensions and fears? Did anything help you feel at ease?

You'll be too tired to feel anything once he comes.

      our transition was pretty easy.

We only had 2 children for about 45 seconds. It was pretty cool and everything, but we really felt that we were ready to move on to the next challenge. I am sure you will feel the same.
      Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Our experience was that the transition from 1 to 2 was much easier than the transition from 2 to 3.

Same. Two not so big a deal. There was some anxiety, but it turned out to be just jitters. When I was home I would make sure the older kid was taken care of and my wife tended to the infant. There were days when my wife was overwhelmed, but for the most part it was a smooth transition from 1 to 2. The third was a killer.

Agreed. And after that #4 was easy.

Numero dos was a little scary for us because we had seven years between the two of them. The hardest part was relearning parenting skills. But that was balanced out by a much more laissez faire approach to parenting.

However, the gap between the kids made things much easier and I imagine the gap ya'll have with your kids will help smooth things a bit. It might be very tiring for a year or so though I venture.

We're having our 2nd on feb 19th (c-section). I'm also really nervous mostly because my finals start two days after he's delivered and i'd hate to fail out of med school because of poor babymaking timing.

I don't like the direction this thread is going.

I am feeling the same way but I already believe there is wisdom in the CUF words. Channeling the engery of two young ones so my wife can give her full attention to the baby boy...it is alot of work (and I have the help of my MIL for another 2 weeks).

We are in the same boat, have a 4 year old (just turned 4) and have a one due in April. I do not remember what its like to have a new born and I am scared.

I was in that same boat (approximately). about 4 years between my two kids. It was pretty easy. The baby-parenting comes back quickly, and the 4 year old can do so much on her own already. You'll be surprised how easy it is. I can imagine it would be much more difficult if your kids were spaced 2 years apart.
