Seems like we go through this every 6 months or so. I have a Jaxon, I named him after my brother who is 18 years younger than me. He was named after a man who also spells it that way who is now 70 years old. Maybe I should post a pic of a volcano?

A family that used to live in my ward (he was military) named all of their kids after the town (or Air Force Base) in which they were conceived - Ogden, Kirtland, etc. Good thing one of the kids wasn't named Public Restroom. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.

There is a lawfirm in Albuquerque named Butt, Thorton and Baehr. Their rec league basketball team is the "Baehr Butts."Originally posted by Mr Incredible View PostIn high school I knew a kid named Rich Butt. In law school I met another guy named Rich Butt. So that's the reason why people should keep a detailed journal, or did it just happen to be so infrequent that the process of elimination was essentially moot?Originally posted by John McClain View PostA family that used to live in my ward (he was military) named all of their kids after the town (or Air Force Base) in which they were conceived - Ogden, Kirtland, etc. Good thing one of the kids wasn't named Public Restroom.

Crap. We just named the Newborn Hayden. Dammit.Originally posted by Eddie Jones View PostThe worst I've seen is Gage.
Also, if you are from Utah you have to name a kid something that ends/rhymes with "aden" like Braden, Hayden, Caden, etc.
Now I feel bad.
We started out naming kids in Oregon, where the name "Jackson" is not nearly as popular as it is in the damned Beehive State.
Neither my wife nor I could think of any names. SOmeone suggested "place names" It worked. We both like Jackson or Jack for short.
Then, when he was 1, we moved to Utah. Good. Hell. Every fifth kid here is name Jackson.
I've resorted to calling him Frankie as his middle name is Franklin. You call out Jackson at a sporting event and all the kids on the field or court turn their heads. So, he became Frankie.
My wife and I liked the theme of place names, so the second was Cannon after Cannon Beach.
The newborn was "Hayden" as the Hayden Valley in Yellowstone or Hayden Peak in the Uintas.
It's probably best that we will not be having any more kids.
Yeah, the kids with the worst names in our ward are probably ours. Although, Ill think on it.
I hate the name Jaxton, Braxton, Brockton. It's a real Utah phonomenon to take a common name and add "ton" to the end of it.
Ugh. My SIL named one of her kids Ledger and and the other one Charlize. You guessed it. Celebrity worship and it's puke inducing finest.
A guy in our stake in Oregon named his baby girl Pantera. After the band.

I am also going to float this out there...
One of my wife's mission companions has a son named Cougar.
Probably the worst name ever.

Someone just blessed a baby last week named Tetonya.
I dig those Brit names. I actually have suggested Pippa to Gidget for our girl but she says no. And I have always thought Aleister is a cool name. There was a kid named that on You Can't Say That On Television I think. Anyone remember that show."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

Is one "N" not enough? Again intentionally mispelling names to be "cute."Originally posted by John McClain View PostOther unusual names in our ward:

Hey, Sister Nielsen, (pronounced NielTsen, of course, since it's Utah), screwing up the spelling of your kids name to some Charlie Foxtrot iteration is NOT cute...
