The crazy thing about the CyberTruck is, can you imagine how differently things could have been had Tesla just produced a cheaper, more normal-looking pickup? They would have gotten it to market much sooner and it would have sold like crazy.

2011 Saab 9-5 (piece of shit car that was a massively stupid purchase that I owned for like 6 months)
What happened to Saab is a shame. Prior to GM buying them the were quirky but awesome. My favorite car ever was my '83 900 Turbo. It was fast, handled well, was great in the snow, and I was still able to sell it in good condition with over 300k miles. I probably only spent a couple of grand maintaining it including oil and tire changes.

        I wussed out. I bought a 4Runner.

When I looked at the numbers leasing something from the Toyota dealership for a year and then returning it to get a Land Cruiser, I just couldn't accept paying 5-8 grand before I even owned a vehicle. Leasing has just never made sense to me.

But more importantly I drove a 4Runner Limited and I actually like it. It's a pretty solid vehicle. Drives nicer than my FJ. So to the chagrin of my 3rd gen 4Runner purist son, I got the last year of the 4th generation.

By the way I got 32 grand from my FJ. I drove it for 6 years and it was worth the same money I paid for it. That in and of itself kind of makes me sad to lose it.

          Toyotas hold their value.

I see that Toyota swallowed their pride and finally ditched their stupid proprietary app software for Apple CarPlay. Funny that it took so long.

              ?

My last 2 Tundras have CarPlay. My 2015-16 Tundra connected but had the Lexus/Toyota entune. Still worked flawlessly without using entune.

I was looking at them a few years ago and none of them had it. Toyota was arguing that their system was superior. According to google, they started adopting it in 2019 on limited models.

Oh I didn't know there was a conflict. I had an aftermarket stereo in my FJ so the CarPlay worked fine.

The CarPlay works fine on the 4Runner, though it doesn't automatically go to the main screen I'm used to. It stays on the Toyota screen until I click on CarPlay.

Pretty nice stereo. Not the thumping bass I'm used to but a more expansive sound.

The Pilot is no more. We were heading down to the Manti Temple open house early Monday morning. Weather was weird. SB just north of Spanish Fork we hit some slush/ice coming out of the HOV lane and immediately went into an unrecoverable rightward spin. After two full revolutions across all lanes of traffic at 70 mph, we were in the barrier. All airbags deployed. I feel very fortunate no one was next to us when this happened and all four of us are walking away with minor bruises and nothing else. Just heard the car was a total loss as expected. We will probably replace it with another Pilot unless there is an equivalent or better we can find in the same price range.

I am a huge fan of airbags. I would have most assuredly been injured in my recent accident without them.

Glad you and your family are OK Omaha

Same. The weirdest thing was when I looked back after we came to a rest, my son was lodged between the side airbag and the window. After recreating the accident in my mind, I have an idea how that happened, but it was so weird and I'm glad it didn't cause any injury. We had to open the door to free him.
