I need a new car

I've been told not to look at the A4 by a couple people now (one is a friend that knows cars). I figured I'd give it a test drive, but now I'm likely not even going to do that.

I'd consider a Maxima and hadn't thought about that.

The car will be mostly a commuting car, but I'll also be taking it on my football game/weekend getaways so I want something that will comfortably cruise at 80 mph on the freeway. My current car doesn't do that very well.

I looked at some 2010 Maximas on KSL.com and it looks like they're listing in the 22-25k range with about 35k miles. They must be lease trade-ins I guess. The V6 they put in those things are very powerful. Back in the day, I had a 2000 Maxima and I loved it.

I wasn't especially fond of the 2004-2008 vintage (or 09, I can't recall), but the 2010 model looks nice. Also, you wouldn't be embarrassed to drive the occasional client around in one.

I bought a new car and figured I'd post the picture here. I didn't even drive the G25 as I'm still trying to figure out why Infiniti made it (even though I do like it a bit). It's almost as expensive as the G37, it's the same size but with a smaller engine, and it's the same body style they've had for like 5 years. I figured I'd tire of the car before I would the 328i so I went with the beamer.

I came home early last night and the kids were ecstatic. One of them asked me if the new car was simply my old one with a new paint job. They just love new stuff and don't care what brand/model it is. I let them play around in it for a little while, sticking their heads out of the sunroof and pretending to drive. Then I took them for a spin. It was a fun afternoon.

no it's not. Have you see me and my family? We aren't what I'd define as giant in any stretch of the imagination. I'm under 5-9 and MJ is 5 foot on a good day.

I'd say that the back seat in a 3-series is too small for anyone over the age of 12.

Whoops. Looks like that's what you bought. I hope your kids have short legs. I had a used 3-series for a while and it was a blast to drive, but with my kids getting older, it didn't make any sense to keep it (esp. since they're so damn expensive to fix).

I'm still driving my 2006 330i and loving it. It's paid off and I have no plans of replacing it just yet.

Yeah, the backseat won't be comfortable for many, but with young kids I should be fine. Most of my kids can't even bend their legs on the seat because they are so short. Seriously, my kids are on the 3 percentile range for height and weight. We all have short mans disease, but it's no bother as it turns coach into first class and a 3-series into a 5-series.

$9000 or under
I would love hybrid if possible, but not a big deal, just good mileage
No trucks/SUVs/vans/2 doors.
AWD preferred.
Less than 90,000 miles

for under $9k you don't have many options other than a subaru. the awd concept inherently limits the kind of gas mileage you get anyway.

Mazdaspeed3. Not a sedan but a four door hatchback. And not AWD but a car with plenty of power (265 hp due to the I-4 turbo), decent mileage (25-26 mpg) with superb handling and a fun factor that excels all else in your price range.
