what is the penalty for posting contents of a boardmail without consent of both parties? Later, Lingo.Originally posted by JohnnyLingo View PostPoor reading comprehension how?
It all comes down to what the mod feels. Their judgement. Sounds an awful lot like CB to me.τὸν ἥλιον ἀνατέλλοντα πλείονες ἢ δυόμενον προσκυνοῦσιν

In all seriousness, is there anybody here who feels that they have been excessively punished? I can think of maybe one instance where I felt that a moderator was overstepping his bounds, and he backed down after others made a stink about it. If that ever changes, and moderating becomes both heavy-handed and unresponsive to the others on the board, then yeah, we'll have a problem. For now, I think we're fine.Originally posted by JohnnyLingo View PostNice knowing you.τὸν ἥλιον ἀνατέλλοντα πλείονες ἢ δυόμενον προσκυνοῦσιν

Thanks for informing me about this Lingo. Now I know one more thing I don't care about.Originally posted by JohnnyLingo View PostI have just been informed via boardmail that CUF moderators have the ability to edit or delete whatever they feel like without notifying the offender. I was unaware of this policy.
Wasn't this kind of thing a major reason for the Exodus?

No, you can talk about it....but you threadjacked. I have no interest in MLM, but I don't dog on the many for the actions of a few. MLM is called VAR in others sectors; sectors where the middle-man makes the same profit margins as MLMers and even fund managers. And what is it exactly that you do? Your industry doesn't have a shining star of altruism or a sterling reputationa bout its strong code of ethics, does it?Originally posted by Viking View PostCB is a sad place. I like it much better here. I can say what I want, unless it's to talk about the scammy nature of MLM and the shame every MLMer should feel over a completely illegitimate business model that should be illegal. I'm assuming someone in a position of control here has some form of interest in this sort of scam.
What CUF doesn't like, and what it will react to with sharpness, is excessive and unsupported sanctimony. I know from experience."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.
The rest of us rarely bother to think about our actions." --Solon

Why was a post about MLM deleted? That seems really bizarre.Originally posted by Viking View PostCB is a sad place. I like it much better here. Absolutely wrong. MLM's model depends on sign up fees: you pay me to be able to go make money personally. Over multiple studies in multiple product formats, it's been shown that those who "pay in" to make a fortune actually lose money. And this doesn't account for the opportunity cost of time. Sadly, many of these people are least able to lose money. It's predatory activity.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostNo, you can talk about it....but you threadjacked. That's not a VAR model. VARs rarely, if ever, have to "pay in" for the smashing opportunity to sell a product. And typically, VARs sell a REAL product, not some shitty tasting purple juice that cures everything from scrotal cancer to the clap.
Perhaps you meant franchise? But that would be wrong too, as franchises are point of sale (one node), not dependent upon deep, multi-levels of other suckers paying in to become rich and famous, too. It's a scam and you're defending in what many countries is an illegal, predatory business (Brazil, notably) that has a sordid history of preying on the lower class.
There are tens of thousands registered investment advisers in the US; the ratio of actual crooks to total RIAs is very low.
