  • Agnosticism does not equal suicide. Yawn.

I would laugh if DDD said that to me, and I'd probably PM him a high five for zinging me.

Shut up real wuapinmon and stand up for theoretical wuapinmon! He is more sensitive than you.

Brother John, I'll say one last thing to you on the moderation thing, and then I hope I'll have the strength to resist any impulse to prolong these boring discussions.

We understand you have a problem with moderation. You spend much of your life (and consequently ours as well) pointing out perceived inconsistencies or hypocrisies on the board. Let me save you a lot of time that you can better devote to your family or your troubled class. We are an imperfect bunch, but we try our best to maintain a relatively free and open board. We have but three options.

We can eliminate moderation altogether, but allowing free rein would be the subject of a William Golding sequel.

We could come up with a whole bunch of new rules to reduce the number of judgment calls, necessitating a far more activist approach to moderation. You can find that approach elsewhere, and while it has its merits, we won't do that here.

Or we can keep things pretty much the way they are. It's not perfect, and you'll undoubtedly have many opportunities to take offense, if you choose to. BUT THINGS AREN'T GOING TO CHANGE IN ANY MATERIAL WAY. So accept it, and become a part of the community, or go elsewhere. Your incessant complaining has not had, and will not have, any ameliorative effect. Einstein supposedly observed that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Your complaints, and my attempts to address them, suggest we're both going insane. However, I intend to stop. Now. Will you?

That wasn't the question. What if I said that to you?

Probably not, though I commend your decision.

What is the point of this Quixotic quest? You obviously are an intelligent man, unlike me you know when to use a semicolon instead of full colon. Do you think that the constant drum banging is going to change thy system of moderation? Wear the mods down enough that one will say you were right and I was wrong? Earn you the respect of the persecuted masses?

I'm an outside observer I haven't been censured on CUF, I'm not a mod, nor do I have any history or bias towards you. However, it appears all this thread has accomplished is to incite more railings against you and likely reinforced to the EC they made the right decision. This battle is over, take your warriors back to Sparta and return to Thermopylae another day in a different thread.

            ...just my 2 cents.

The point is obviously to get attention. I'm pretty sure he knows it isn't going to change moderation, but he loves the responses and attention he gets from it.

I admit that I have ofttimes indulged him as well.

I have a theory that the whole purpose of this thread is to get more responses than the Lakers thread. Can you think of a better way to enact his revenge on DDD?

Imagine what he would do if one of his friends IRL "wronged" him, or offended him. Sheesh.

I think folks, including Lingo, see some sport in it. As a resident of the peanut gallery, I find it all mildly amusing.

You find sport in wasting our time with grade-school drama?

                        Nice.

I generally just watch and toss shells from the peanut gallery. I guess that is sort of grade school, but it is also amusing. Lighten up Francis!

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

                              Wuap's silence speaks volumes.

I'm willing to bet he'd respond with another volcano picture.

                                Lebowski,

How long of a ban would I get if I told Lingo what I really wanted to say right now?
