I hate that Jerry Sloan is still the coach of the Utah Jazz. The reason, 1997 NBA Finals.Originally posted by YOhio View PostCan you clarify which "Sloan" you hate and why?

Why hate him? Clearly, the better team won.Originally posted by SloanHater View PostI hate that Jerry Sloan is still the coach of the Utah Jazz. The reason, 1997 NBA Finals.

I disagree. The Jazz won both regular season meetings, had a better regular season record, and home court advantage.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostWhy hate him? Clearly, the better team won.
Switch Phil Jackson with Jerry Sloan and the Jazz would have won '97 and '98 Titles.*

Sorry, the only person you switch and change who wins the title is Michael Jordan.Originally posted by SloanHater View PostI disagree. The Jazz won both regular season meetings, had a better regular season record, and home court advantage.
Switch Phil Jackson with Jerry Sloan and the Jazz would have won '96 and '97 Titles.
Do you mean 97 and 98? Or do you think the Jazz underperformed in 96 as well when they didn't make the finals?

How are you supposed to win a title when you have BRuss guarding Jordan?

The Bulls were twice as good as Utah.

I base a coach's performance on more than one game. The Jazz had home court advantage (1998 Finals) and didn't win Games 1 or 2. They then got destroyed in Game 3.Originally posted by cowboy View PostAnd all this time I thought the Jazz lost because Malone choked on the free throw line. Tell me, how did Sloan miss those FT's for him?
Sloan was supposedly a friend of Chuck Daly, how is it he never invoked the 'Jordan Rules' that won the Pistons their championships ?Last edited by SloanHater; 07-15-2009, 02:47 PM.
