I don't know if Jefe is in the business of making money. He seems to have some pretty bassackwards way of running things over there.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostI asked a while ago if CougarBoard was dying. With yet another moderator from CB signing up over here I think the answer is getting clearer by the minute. When El Jefe sign up we will know the final blow has landed.
I posted a lot over there because it was the only cougar site with a mobile version and it had good traffic.
CB can be a drag with the moderation. In fact, I know many that hate the moderation. I've been branded a liar by "the chief", though he has yet to try to understand why I chose my moniker while still a student.
I don't think CB will die anytime soon. Most that don't post here are probably turned off by the "ute" portion of the domain name and so won't jump ship.
If there is another board less moderated, with a good mobile site, dedicated to BYU, vbulletin SMF or phpbb software, and getting good traffic, then I think CB's days of board dominance are numbered.
I hate how difficult it is to stay up on the discussions over there. It is such a waste of time. Reverse order on vb is awesome.
Anyway, I used to really dislike some of the mods, but now, I don't. They are just enforcing chief's rules, no matter how stupid they may be. It isn't their fault.
I'll say this, my post count on CB is dramatically reducing."Don't expect I'll see you 'till after the race"

You broached the subject.....please explain to us why you did it. As a doctor, I really dislike it when people use the title before it's been earned. It's like seeing a bride in her dress before the wedding.Originally posted by doctorcoug View PostI've been branded a liar by "the chief", though he has yet to try to understand why I chose my moniker while still a student.

my brother is Viking and he made fun of my original moniker (1viking1), called me a name-stealer (we didn't know we were related at the time).
Shortly thereafter I donated and decided to change my username. All the usernames I use have a portion of my name in it, so I looked at other options.
I changed about 4-5 months from graduation and I planned to stick around on CB for years to come. So, I chose my current name, knowing that I wouldn't be able to change ever again.
There you have it. I thought it was harmless. Some posters, however, thought it was a tragedy. The only difference between me today (the doctor) and the student in January is that I walked across a stage. I had passed all of my tests and boards. I was coasting.
Truly stupid. And Jefe still thinks I'm a liar only wanting to talk about sex because of this whole situation...stupid stupid."Don't expect I'll see you 'till after the race"

it all stemmed from a valentine's party where a couple didn't get the joke about bells attached to the bed post on a honeymoon. I asked how many understood the joke, just to see if I was being to harsh in making fun of the couple.Originally posted by whoneedscorners? View PostLOL, I was thinking the same thing...
And what is the correlation of you being a Dr and always wanting to talk about sex?
Then, I posted an article about the pope and condoms and how he thinks condoms would not help the AIDS problem.
Thus, I like talking about sex. Oh, and I said "prariedog, landpoke, nice" (or somenthing like that).
My brother made the connection. I should search for the original post, but it wreaked of something like "arrogant, know-it-all, overreacting, we must have the same father". He then said, "me, the apostate, our brother the atheist, our sister the beauty queen, and little brother, the felon". It was just too coincidental, so I called him."Don't expect I'll see you 'till after the race"

I'm none of the above, but you'll have to wait for the next episode for the grand reveal, "what makes the felon a felon".Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostWhoa, this is like an episode of Lost....every reveal leaves more questions......which brother are you? Is offering medical advice under the guise of a licensed professional a felony?
Just a question that came to mind. No idea if it relates here.
EDIT: almostadoctorcoug--you only have to put up with this for another 9 days. Of course, then you probably won't be around here much....Last edited by ERCougar; 06-22-2009, 07:17 PM.At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

in the real world, yes. What about online? I don't know. Attorneys?Originally posted by ERCougar View PostIs offering medical advice under the guise of a licensed professional a felony?

so, my brother was 14 at the time and was "cruising" down university at 80 mph. A police officer turned his lights on to pull him over, and my brother turned his lights off and tried to outrun the cop, on university ave, of all places.
He eventually got pulled over and arrested. My dad let him spend the entire weekend in jail.
Anyway, my dad, the attorney, got him out of the charges, so he isn't really a felon. We just like to tease him for his stupidity."Don't expect I'll see you 'till after the race"
