You mean Oklahoma, sure it was. Odds are though that situation will happen less than the greater talented team also executing. Therefor, a win like BYU had over Okla. is more rare than the one FSU had over BYU.

Who's "we"? The BYU fanbase? If so, could luck with that 71.

You've been reading CB this week, a lot of fans still think BYU lost because they didn't execute, didn't play with fire/passion, the field was sloppy, Johnson and Bauman were out, etc. Very few members of this fanbase can just admit that the BYU Defense has below average speed and athleticism.

I think Bauman being out was an advantage.

Agreed. Also, if Denny is the best player opposite Jan we are in serious trouble for the remainder of the season.

I second this. He shouldn't ever see the field.

EDIT: The 2 starting middle backers for the remainder of the season should be Terrance Hooks and Brandon Ogletreee. I don't expect that because of the history of some the decisions that have been made regarding the defensive personal but there is no doubt in my mind that those guys shouldn't be the ones in the middle for the rest of the year.

I expect to see more of Vic So'oto this week opposite of Jan.

                Bronco:
"We have added one drill. But really, there has been very little change in practices than what there was in the first two weeks. And for the thought to be that there should be more changes or different things happening based on the number of points Florida State scored [no]. Florida State played a very good game, and they did it from beginning to end. So I am not using that game only to decide who we are. I have to look at the body of work of all three games."
Maybe there wasn't 27 mistakes made?

What killed us was 3rd downs.. Many times it was 3rd and 11 or 3rd and 8 or 3rd and 6, and we just couldn't stop them.. I bet most of the mistakes were made on 3rd downs....

Define "27 mistakes". Was it one mistake that was repeatedly made 27 times, or was it 27 different mistakes made one time each?

If it was basically one mistake or one type of mistake made repeatedly, I can easily see why you would only need one drill to address it.

Listening to this week's Ken Garf Honda in Orem Bronco Mendenhall Show featuring Iceberg Drive Inn, i hate how commercial everything is on KSL listening to Wrubell during the play by play is like a constant fast food comercial. Anyway about a third of the way through the show Bronco talked about the 27 errors.

When you look at that number most of those was simply Florida State executing at a higher level rather than our player not knowing what to do by assignment they were simply not doing it as cleanly.
Looks like an assignment error includes getting beat by better athletes. He said the D mostly knew what to do but got beat.

If the 27 errors were actually our guys doing the right thing but getting beat by better athletes, then I wonder why he says they will be easy to fix. Unless he meant, "they will be easy to fix over the next 7 of 9 games as we play shitty teams with shitty athletes".

Bronco would be wise to just answer, no comment and endure the wrath of the press and fans. I, along with everyone else is going to disect everything he says in the press.

Luckily with my many sources now, I get to hear what he says for team consumption only and I am just fine with what he is saying.

This is ridiculous. BYU fans got a hard on because Josh Shaw asked Jake Heaps where his scholarship offer to BYU was. FSU gets 4 Josh Shaws for their defensive backfield every year. They get 3 Alani Fua's for their DEs every year. They get a Jake Heaps at QB every year. They get one Austin Collie and 2 Ross Apo's every year. They get 5 Reynolds' boys every year. They get two Manti Teo's every year and if they only get 1 they might consider to condescend to offer a Jake Stout a scholarship. There are some positions we might compete but across the board they have far better athletes at every position. They should beat BYU's ass. Just because they were underachieving everyone got their hopes up and subsequently when reality struck us in the face we turned into a very large group of vaginas whining about shit that as much time as we spend studying and watching the sport the cause should be intuitively obvious.

Now as far as TCU and Utah, while I think each will have some athletic advantages on BYU, I don't think the difference will be as disparate as the difference between BYU and FSU. Second, I doubt either will be able to control the BYU DL the way FSU did.

In essence there was nothing Mendenhall could do to make BYU be able to be competitive with FSU. The Seminoles were just flat out better. No Knute Rockne speech or rubbing the inner thigh of BYU fans would have made the kids who were less stronger and less faster stronger and faster. I like that BYU has decided to schedule the big boys, but I think I know enough about BYU and college football in general to understand what the frequent outcome of those games are going to be. Certainly, I expected BYU to win going in given how FSU's season went, but once I watched a bit it was obvious that their players were just better than BYU's. I think we should be pushing for Mendenhall's face to be chiseled into Mt Timpanaogas for beating OU and giving us all that ridiculous hope.

Yes, I think Mendenhall realizes that he has nobody, including TCU and Utah, on his schedule left with athletes the caliber of what he just faced. For the love of all that is holy can we at least recognize some semblence of reality and stop bitching about things that are just not changeable.

I hate that you say what I think so much better than I. I know I am more intelligent. I guess I just don't execute as well as you do.

The key is that you are happy about is that he is scheduling as you would like. As an honorable man who has spent a long time studying and watching college football you knew going into it that you were requesting likely losses and as such you are not going to whine about why Coleby Clawson isn't as good as the 3rd round draft choice FSU used at OLB, right?
