It's like the Seinfeld episode where Costanza suddenly becomes really intelligent when he stops obsessing about sex. If you would let go obsessing about true blue fans, scheduling the the Honor Code, I have complete confidence you wouldn't sound like a muttering idiot anymore.

Keep up would you. They seemed to have gotten the message on scheduling. Since you are so interested in my posting, why don't you tell us the last time I complained about the schedule.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostIt's like the Seinfeld episode where Costanza suddenly becomes really intelligent when he stops obsessing about sex. "True blue fans" are a royal pain in the ass. For the most part they sit on their couch at home or in the cheap seats at the stadium. They attend ward development meeting instead of watching the game if there is a conflict. Yet, they feel they have the "truth" and therefor should direct the state of mind of every other fan. Like a hemroid, as long as they are vocal, the pain doesn't go away.
As for the honor code. It's not me that touts it as the greatest revelation since the ten commandments, it's your true blue fan buddies.
However, one benefit of my stopping the HC and true blue obsession would be I could stop looking over my shoulder looking for your comment on my obsessions.

Exactly right. It was a heck of a lot of fun the week leading up to both the Oklahoma game and the FSU game. I don't begrudge those who would have been just as excited if we had beaten Weber ST. in the first game and tromped all over Tulsa at home in the third game. However, for me, I am more excited where we are at 2-1 than where we would have been at 3-0.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostThe key is that you are happy about is that he is scheduling as you would like. As an honorable man who has spent a long time studying and watching college football you knew going into it that you were requesting likely losses and as such you are not going to whine about why Coleby Clawson isn't as good as the 3rd round draft choice FSU used at OLB, right?
In a way I guess the loss to FSU has me more eagerly anticipating match ups with CSU and UNLV than I would have been. I am not going to be bored until the TCU game.

I agree on some level, but I think I do have a disconnect.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostThis is ridiculous. BYU fans got a hard on because Josh Shaw asked Jake Heaps where his scholarship offer to BYU was. FSU gets 4 Josh Shaws for their defensive backfield every year. They get 3 Alani Fua's for their DEs every year. They get a Jake Heaps at QB every year. They get one Austin Collie and 2 Ross Apo's every year. They get 5 Reynolds' boys every year. They get two Manti Teo's every year and if they only get 1 they might consider to condescend to offer a Jake Stout a scholarship. There are some positions we might compete but across the board they have far better athletes at every position. They should beat BYU's ass. Just because they were underachieving everyone got their hopes up and subsequently when reality struck us in the face we turned into a very large group of vaginas whining about shit that as much time as we spend studying and watching the sport the cause should be intuitively obvious.
Now as far as TCU and Utah, while I think each will have some athletic advantages on BYU, I don't think the difference will be as disparate as the difference between BYU and FSU. Second, I doubt either will be able to control the BYU DL the way FSU did.
In essence there was nothing Mendenhall could do to make BYU be able to be competitive with FSU. The Seminoles were just flat out better. No Knute Rockne speech or rubbing the inner thigh of BYU fans would have made the kids who were less stronger and less faster stronger and faster. I like that BYU has decided to schedule the big boys, but I think I know enough about BYU and college football in general to understand what the frequent outcome of those games are going to be. Certainly, I expected BYU to win going in given how FSU's season went, but once I watched a bit it was obvious that their players were just better than BYU's. I think we should be pushing for Mendenhall's face to be chiseled into Mt Timpanaogas for beating OU and giving us all that ridiculous hope.
Yes, I think Mendenhall realizes that he has nobody, including TCU and Utah, on his schedule left with athletes the caliber of what he just faced. For the love of all that is holy can we at least recognize some semblence of reality and stop bitching about things that are just not changeable.
1. I'd like a clear, consistent, competent message from the head coach to help me feel better about the level of commitment and investment I'm making to the program. I don't see that message this week. First it's that we had some assignment errors that are easy to fix, then it's a Karl Malone 360* turn and it's about athleticism which certainly is not an easy fix.
2. I agree FSU has better athletes, but I don't see the gap as wide as you do. I think that is your vagina showing that you think we ought to be star struck against any of these well known schools and can't hope to compete on a regular basis and worship any coach that can get us within a sniff of any of the top 30 programs.

I will let you worry about how much Bronco needs to massage your inner thigh. I personally don't think he owes you anything other than winning football games and IMO he has done a damn fine job of that. However, I can accept that this is a difference of opinion and I feel sorry for him that there are those who think they are entitled to whatever the hell it is you are looking for.Originally posted by jay santos View PostI agree on some level, but I think I do have a disconnect.

I can agree that the gap is not as wide as I indicate, but it is there. I think the gap coupled with the turnovers and you get a decisive pounding. I don't get real caught up in style points, or margin of victories I am a simple wins and losses type, so as I view this season, as it has played out, it is my humble opinion that BYU football has exceeded its potential. For this I am grateful and think the coaching staff deserves a great deal more respect and admiration than they have been given. I think BYU can occasionally beat the top echelon teams and perhaps I am mistaken but I think they did such a thing this year.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

My opinion is that Jay is the kind of person that can't enjoy the journey, let alone the destination. There will always something to nitpick and bitch about.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostI will let you worry about how much Bronco needs to massage your inner thigh. Relax, Indy. Is what I said about Bronco in this thread that bad? This is how I enjoy the journey. Bitch at you guys on the internet and get a few reactions, which allows me to be a super sunshine fan IRL.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostMy opinion is that Jay is the kind of person that can't enjoy the journey, let alone the destination. You have to remember Indy was singing pop corn poppin and yelling at everyone for criticizing crowton until all of sudden he realized Crowton was gone and he would have to yell at BYU admin. and the HC group. What a dilema for poor Indy. I think it emotionally scarred him.Originally posted by jay santos View PostRelax, Indy. Is what I said about Bronco in this thread that bad?
