    That might actually work on some boards, but I think one of the main points of this board is to make friends, and not to discuss "issues." Sure, sometimes friends discuss issues, but they're friends first. You want this board to be an intellectual debate first (and only, possibly). This place is the other way around. In fact, the board was started (as I understand it) so that the friendships and connections and sense of community developed at CG would not be lost.

    Your approach simply does not fit this board. If its issues you want, I'm sure there are plenty of issue-centered boards out there were you can get your fill.

        Nothing says you have to get everything out of one board. You can always go a la carte.

        Then again, you tend to make even the BYU sports chat into an "issue."

          If you can't throw around controversial ideas without stepping on a friend's toes, whether here or in real life, then I suggest it is probably your delivery that is the problem.

          Your not making friends approach has nothing to do with the reason why my honest to not honest responses have a 1 to 100 ratio with you (this is one of the honest ones, btw). It is all about your delivery. Trouble is, you're not enough of a friend for me to care about trying to help you out with it, as others did with me and as I have done with others since. And since, by your own admissions (although not your acts), you don't care what people think about you, I'm more than happy to poke, belittle and make fun. You don't exist as anything more than a series of pixels to me, in short, and as pixels are incapable of feelings I don't really feel bad about that. Broadly speaking and in only very mild exaggeration.

          And now we have the makings of a chicken and egg problem.
          Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.
