    I've been looking but I can't find a thing.

SC lost to Oregon State. That was a Thurs night game. The next day it felt like the entire country was watching that game. Thurs night games don't have the same stigma they used to carry. Real teams play on Thurs nights now. Not as often as Saturdays, but they definitely play on Thurs nights.

Thursday nights are established as college football nights. Wednesday nights are not.

And I really like Thursday games, actually. I wouldn't want more than three in a season, which is why I was really happy with last year's schedule when our two biggest games were Thursday night.

They have a different atmosphere; I called in sick to work the next day; and best of all, you can spend the entire day watching other games and not worrying about your team.

CBSCS (CSTV) confuses me and maybe I need to check on that channel some more. But at least through last season, it seemed like CBSCS was too busy broadcasting random Div 3 games between Fargo St. and Cedar Rapids Tech to broadcast MWC games. Is CBSCS only the receiver in that relationship with Comcast? How come they almost never show MWC games? With the MWC playing pretty good football right now, shouldn't this be an opportunity to both promote CBSCS and Versus more right now? Versus seems like it would rather show hillbillies in Kentucky hunting turkeys than football games. I don't get it.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

this is hurting the station because comcast won't let them put games online and they are pushing way too hard on getting the mtn on sports tiers with other carriers.

Not to mention the cost to move the station to HD is something the bastards at comcast dont want to do.

CSTV gave up ownership in the first place to get on the digital tiers of comcast for a cheaper price. Basically Dave Checketts is a weasel who sold our conferences games to the devil in order make himself a couple extra bucks.
Is there any background articles on this? I'm curious why CBSCS isn't on basic digital on Comcast.

Things definitely played out differently than planned. Why isn't CBSCS more prominent?

Probably because they're too busy showing Div. 3 games instead of real football games. I can't figure out why CBS doesn't try to grow that network a little bit. Viacom has the money to lead an attack against ESPN. ESPN's overproduced schtick has grown a little tired and it seems like someone could take a bite out of that network. CNNSI tried but they didn't broadcast any sports themselves, just news and highlights and ESPNEWS isn't the draw ESPN is.

Look what TNT has been able to do with the NBA. It's by far the best NBA show and it makes ESPN look like The MTN in comparison.

By the way, TBS/TNT were broadcasting college games a few years ago and they seemed to do a pretty good job. Why did they stop?

My guess would be that CBS offered the SEC more money to televise the games.

TBS was sub-contrated out to do BIG 12 and Pac-10 games from FSN, IIRC.

Versus has seemed to picked up the Pac-10 games the last few years.

                      Here is the press release

The mtn. will be available to cable and satellite providers throughout the nation. Comcast and CSTV each own 50% of the network, which will be managed by Comcast. Additionally, CSTV will be added to Comcast's digital basic systems in Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico.

There was a time when they would blame it on trying to get the Mtn. picked. They put all the games there and said, if you want MWC football you have to pick up the Mtn. Now that the Mtn. is basically available, they are not using this excuse anymore, so who knows what the reason is.

Another question, why does no one want to compete with ESPN? A lot of their shows are becoming unwatchable, and the only one that seems willing to compete with them is the NFL network, and they have won me over for NFL wrap ups and stuff. I don't even turn to ESPN for NFL stuff anymore. I really wish someone would step up to knock them off their pedestal.
