They also love every time they play BYU. Sure it has only been two games, but that kind of blows my mind."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Hey TD. What did you think of the stadium?"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

It is very impressive, but not without a few challenges.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostHey TD. What did you think of the stadium?
From the outside, it is a behemoth. Looks like a gigantic UFO in the middle of a flat field. The glass facade is particularly attractive.
The stadium has flat screens everywhere, lots of amenities.
And that gigantic screen is mind-boggling when you first sit down and look at it. Seriously, you just have to see it to believe it.
A few warts that need to be cleansed...
the acoustics are awful. it was very difficult to hear the Sooner band, it was hard to hear the refs and often all you heard was feedback when they turned on their mics.
the screen is distracting after awhile. Your eyes are often drawn to the screen instead of watching the field.
you can't roam the concourse. it is cordoned off into sections.
overall, it is a class facility. very nice. I was impressed.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Most spectacular stadium ever. I was in awe. Here was our view:Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostHey TD. What did you think of the stadium?

At one point, they had the camera pointed at Dr. Samuelson with the caption "Coach Dave Rose." I thought that was funny. Samuelson was pointing to Rose in the neighboring section, and it took them about 20 seconds to figure out which person was Dave Rose.
Sooner fans kept bitching and moaning about all the BYU ads that were being displayed on the big screen. The audio was practically inaudible, which was a great relief, especially when they showed Bronco giving the sappy lecture in the MARB.Last edited by SoonerCoug; 09-05-2009, 11:19 PM.That which may be asserted without evidence may be dismissed without evidence. -C. You could fit four of my house footprints on that big jumbotron screen.
Sooner--we were in that box in the direct opposite corner from you.At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I was in section 303--on the BYU side of the stadium. The BYU fans were to my left. Were you with the bulk of the BYU fans?Originally posted by ERCougar View PostYou could fit four of my house footprints on that big jumbotron screen.

Our box was all BYU fans but other than that--all Sooners. The BYU crowd was to our right.Originally posted by SoonerCoug View PostI was in section 303--on the BYU side of the stadium. Sooner, we were to your left in 311. Your pics are awesome. That sceen was amazing. It really was crystal clear HD pictures. At certain points, there was too much HD going on, esp when they did some close ups on OU cheerleaders....yikes!Originally posted by SoonerCoug View PostMost spectacular stadium ever. I was in awe. The acoustics were awful. Really bad. And I am not joking when I say that Reliant is louder - I went to Reliant last week for a preseason game and it was louder, with fewer people.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostIt is very impressive, but not without a few challenges.

Not roaming the concourse kind of sucks.
On the flip side, the bathroom lines went very quickly. And that screen - wow!Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

Yeah. The HD was so good I could see the armpit stubble on one cheerleader, and see that another had done her best Blonde Elvira impersonation with the makeup.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostSooner, we were to your left in 311. i saw the armpit stubble, too! that is exactly what I was talking about. It was awkward and I wished the camera would have panned away.Originally posted by nikuman View PostYeah. Yeah, and those photos were taken with my iPhone.Originally posted by Teenage Dirtbag View PostWow that screen is incredible. It's even so much clearer than the rest of the photo that it looks like you superimposed what's on it. I forgot to mention how after we scored the final touchdown, a BYU fan was shown on the big screen motioning his thumb across his throat. I thought that was very unfortunate on multiple levels. Also, he looked like he was old enough to have been endowed in the early 80s.That which may be asserted without evidence may be dismissed without evidence. -C. Hitchens
