For perspective, Max Hall had a PER of 137 his soph year and 156 last year (when he was criticized mercilessly for his performance). If Corp can't at least do a little better than Hall in his sophomore season with the weapons that surround him, Barkley should be the guy.

(edit) In fact, I wonder when the last time was a USC QB had a PER of less than 145. My guess is, it's been at least 7-8 years.

We just have a different idea about what a bust is. USC could go undefeated with Corp having a sub 130 PER. Going undefeated as a soph qb would hardly be a bust.
