Last week still stings, especially with FLA and MIA both losing today, but what an exciting season overall. We’ll see what bowl season brings.
So our quest to add a quality opponent in Coastal Carolina, then subsequently losing to them, has cost us a NY6 bowl game. Had we not played them, won tonight, and Florida and Miami both lose, we are in a Ny6 bowl game.

Damn you 2020.
Not true. We'd pass florida and miami, but UNC most definitely would have jumped us
I'm happy that we don't have to go to Boise or Frisco, Texas. UCF is a good team. They will be a challenge. Wish it was a P5 team, but it could have been worse. The date is terrible though. Would be fun to go to, if not for Covid.

I agree re: P5 team. That was the question all year - how would the team play against a P5 team?
Yeah, Florida is not kind to BYU. I was hoping to get some middling P5 or something.
If we were going to be relegated to a non-prestigious pre-Christmas bowl game, it might have at least come with the perks of beating up on a hapless no-name.

Oh well. Should be a good one.
UCF has a great offense and a horrible defense. Should be a really fun, high scoring game. I'll take it.
There was a time when I paid close attention to BYU's recruiting fortunes, poring over HB Arnett's weekly updates in the 80s and 90s about who BYU was going after, commitments, signings, etc. Now, it's only of mild interest, in part because there have been several high profile recruits who were washouts, and so many very good players who had slipped under the radar. Plus, esp. in BYU's case, the quality of a class may not be known for at least 2-3 years or more.
That said, are today's signings thought to be roughly consistent with, or better or worse than, BYU's typical class? Okay, I guess I care a little....

I'm similar to you. The consensus seems to be that this is a higher quality class than the last few years but will be underrated because it is small.
