What is the timing on the portal? So he might be concerned that he'll miss some good offers? Seems to me he needs to show something, and the bowl game gives him that opportunity.

Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Alternatively, he may recognize that if he shows what he's got in the bowl game, any potential offers could dissipate.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostWhat is the timing on the portal? Not by rule, but I wouldn’t want to be in the same room as the third stringer when they announce that the quitter will start.Originally posted by SteelBlue View Post

It's about on par with recent years.Originally posted by USUC View PostI, much like most online BYU fans, have no idea how this current class is shaping up because the doom scrolling we have engaged in over the past few days. Is the sky really falling or is BYU's class a step up from the last couple of years?τὸν ἥλιον ἀνατέλλοντα πλείονες ἢ δυόμενον προσκυνοῦσιν

No. His high school coach in on staff at ASU. He is from Chandler. He didn't see an opportunity at BYU, so he went back home. I'd be surprised if he went anywhere else.Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostAnyone else scratching their head about Connover going to ASU? I think he is wondering why ASU (a P5 school) would be wanting to use a scholarship on Conover...Originally posted by Green Monstah View Post

Right. Once upon a time he seemed to be good enough to be in the top ranks of recruits, and now he is going back to play for one of the few people that would know enough to know if he was being tricked. Maybe just maybe he will work out.Originally posted by Green Monstah View PostHe was a four-star QB in HS. I don't think anyone on this site can say they have enough data to say whether he's scholarship worthy or not.τὸν ἥλιον ἀνατέλλοντα πλείονες ἢ δυόμενον προσκυνοῦσιν
