Last night I tried to explain to my wife that the Texas special teams coach's stripper girlfriend named Pole Assassin's pet monkey assaulted a small child on Halloween. I made it all the way through "pet monkey" with a straight face.

I feel bad for Sark. He's bound to be a life long assistant.

not the worst gig ever. should have just stayed at bama, made his $2-3 MM/year or whatever the SEC pays it's top notch coordinators, and called it good until saban hangs them up.

To take Saban's place? Or to retire at the same time?

I pity the fool that tries to fill Saban's shoes at Bama.

at least retire - from bama - at the same time when he'd have his pick of coordinator jobs or even hc jobs for the most part. but i understand these guys are ambitious and have egos. a job like texas comes calling, he's not about to turn that down.

Then I remembered how much he'll be paid, and then I don't pity him so much anymore.

Why stay at Bama is Bama type OC jobs will always be available to him after he's fired from top level jobs like Texas?

Would have been a dumb move financially to wait. He is getting six years, $34M guaranteed at Texas.

Retire after that check clears if he can't make it long term at Texas.

So he can live in one place and have one job rather than move around, get fired, etc. Or he could retire after the Texas check clears if he can't make it long term in Austin. That would work too.

For a $34M guaranteed contract, I would move to Laramie, Wyoming.

$34M to move to Austin, Texas? From Alabama? Come on.
