You guys are missing the issue. Public universities like Utah, and probably private schools, pay DI football coaches competaitive salaries mostly with private donations earmarked specifically for that purpose. (This is why hiring and firing is never really the AD's decision, even though they act like it.) Maybe the LDS Church doesn't want to raise money for that purpose because at least in theory it may reduce gifts for prosecuting the Lord's work. But doesn't BYU have any high roller unbelieving fans?Originally posted by USUC View PostHow does BYU pay their coaches relative to other non-P5 conferences? Clearly, if BYU was making P5 money that would go up. It won't be SEC money, but I think it would comparable to the P5 average. But maybe I'm wrong.
And, if they are really underpaying their coaches based on the revenue they bring in, how would the fan base put pressure on the administration? When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

What are we considering "private donations?" PAC-12 revenue? Or just Spence?Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostYou guys are missing the issue. Huh. Sitake was a coach at another one of my alma maters, deal old Eastern Arizona.Originally posted by creekster View Post"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. It was kind of strange post game when Kyle told the reporter "that is a really well coached team" referring to BYU. I'm used to him being more of a dick.Originally posted by originalsocal View PostI don't think Kyle wants to embarrass his buddy. With Bronco at the helm there might have been more motivation to sweep the leg.

He was a dick last year too, when he said we're cheap shot artists because we're coached to be that way.Originally posted by Eddie View PostIt was kind of strange post game when Kyle told the reporter "that is a really well coached team" referring to BYU. I'm used to him being more of a dick.
