Just wanted to get out in front of the bandwagon. But I'm legitimately concerned he's the issue. Taysom is one of the smartest dudes and he struggled all last year. He definitely regressed but we all chalked it up to him not being 100%. Tanner got his opportunities in the bowl game and spring game and he was terrible in each. But rain, right? 2 games into this season and it is clear he is not the freshman 2 months removed from the mission who was slinging it. He's regressed. A 5th year Thorterback and a 4th year former Elite 11 MVP both suck in Ty's offense. The receivers suck in Ty's offense. Does anyone believe that Eric Drage is more athletic than any receiver on our roster? If these guys can't get separation then you scheme it. Put guys in motion. Bunch formations. Slants. Double moves. Rub routes. Instead Ty insists on everyone lining up and beating their guy it seems. And when they do, Mangum is dare I say, even less accurate than Taysom was. I have no clue if he's injured or what but his arm is a noodle compared to what it was. But I suspect Ty has gotten in his ear about managing the game. I feared this when Tanner said you can't go broke making a profit several times in the offense season. So Ty is in his head and instead of spinning it he's pushing the ball, trying to guide it into spots because he's scared he's going to make a mistake. These next two weeks could be ugly.

It seems like every year, we start bitching about the Offensive Coordinator. Every year, doesn't matter who the OC is, be it Chow, Anae, Doman, etc... It's almost like the problem could be something else entirely.

I think we definitely have a talent issue. I think we've slowly deteriorated in recruiting since the beginning of Bronco era. A lot of that is Utah taking it from us, and the Pac 12 and other big schools recruiting the LDS Poly population and even the state of Utah. A lot of it is our conference situation and the slow downward trend of our general sexiness factor. It's a bummer. I don't see it reversing without something big like landing in a P5 conference.

You can overcome talent with great coaching. My take is that Anae overcoached us a little and the current offensive staff is undercoaching us a little.
