Guess What? The Y Got a Fever!: BYU vs Mississippi State
Last night's performance proved that Taysom was bad last week? you are dumb. If anything, it proved the opposite.
Last week I gave props to Taysom for his ability to run, the ability to be average on short throws, and his ability to manage the game. I hammered him on his inability to generate a passing game at throws longer than ten yards. I also pointed out that his completion percentage was largely overridden by the measly 5.1 yard per completion. He was far from fabulous (as Lebowski points out below) last week as a passing QB and our offense was one dimensional because of it.
138 yards on 27 attempts is fantastic? That's actually worse than his season average which is currently good for 96th in the FBS.
In context, yes. He had a great overall game against Michigan State. Maybe you missed all the sportswriters gushing about it.

Dumb indeed.
You argued (and I quote) that he "didn't win the game" last week. Then to make your case, you argued that he can't consistently throw deep. I agreed with that and pointed out that nobody has argued otherwise, then repeatedly illustrated how that was irrelevant to the question of whether or not Taysom helped "win the game" against Michigan State.
I was 100% confident that the moment Taysom struggled, you would claim that you were right all along, even though that would be yet another irrelevant fact. I suppose you will continue to double down as long as Taysom wears BYU blue. Have fun with that!

With the exception of a game against 1AA Wagner, Tanner Mangum has never played a complete college football game with a QBR as high as Taysom had against Michigan State.

Here's the thing, Shaka. You're definitely overstating your case. But it's not so much that you're wrong as it is that you're being a dick. None of us has missed the fact that his completion percentage and yardage is too low. We're pulling for him anyway.

What moment that Taysom struggled? His throw game has struggled all season. You should go back and read my recaps from all the games. I called my shot last week and this week was proven correct.
Right now Taysom is a one dimensional QB which is unfortunate considering the offense that Ty has chosen to employ. When he has a complete game get back to me.
Anyhoo...We're 4-3, in the midst of a 3 game win streak, we have a young, energetic, and charismatic coaching staff that has so far proven equal to the task. I'm excited.
Anyone else take notice that on Moroni's great, if not irrelevant catch on the sideline, that the SEC refs called it incomplete while the BigXII replay ref called him in? Smoke!

He led a TD drive on every single possession in the second half on the road against the defending B1G champs. He completed 70% of his passes, had zero turnovers, and made some great runs and throws in critical situations to keep drives alive. NOTHING about what you keep bringing up changes that basic fact.
Ok, double down again...

All by himself? He should have won, like 5 Heismans already!
