I have a high school friend who attended WVU. He claims the couch burning stopped. Apparently he was wrong.

It's just no more couch burning on Campus and a stern lecture by the school president that guarantees students will burn more couches.

We hate gays and don't hire women, but at least we don't burn couches.

Enjoy. Should be a warm week. Good luck with the mountaineers.

My sister's baby daddy is a West Virginian. If that doesnt provide an imcentive to beat the hell out of the Mountaineers, I'm not sure what does. The only time I met him face to face, the POS invited a female "friend"
to their house to watch a WVU football game.

My friend explained that the couches don't get burned after just any game:

In 1998 WVU lost to a ranked Miami in WV on a last minute field goal. The city was just about torched. Goal posts were torn down and the burning couches turned into a barricade in the middle of the street.

Hey, folks who know DC more than me!

If you were going to spend a couple of nights at either the Ritz-Georgetown, or the Ritz-Washington DC (22nd and M Street), which would you choose?

Likely as not I will end up at the Econolodge, but just in case.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Ritz Georgetown based purely on location. Ritz-Wash is closer to a metro, so there is that, but it's in the center of the government district so there is not a lot going on around the hotel.

Can 'em both and go to the Willard.
                          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Tempting, as the John Adams suite is available for only $7K a night.

I'd like to stay at the Willard, but the Ritz gives me a corporate discount, and the Willard doesn't, so it would be significantly more money.

I have no idea how this game is going to go. I want to be optimistic, but it is an awful long trip and West Virginia might be the most competent offense we have faced so far.
