Bronco did say he would make his own recommendation for a replacement. You think he just says Anae or takes him with?

Rumor is Anae was forced on him by Holmoe and they really didn't get along.

I think his recommendation was 2J.

Sounds like the coaches who were offered so far are Howell, Poppinga, Tidwell and Beck. Wintrich and the entire strength staff has already packed up and headed for UVA.

Was surprised to see Detmer throwing his name into the ring, but then I read the rest of this guy's tweets and realized he isn't the insider some people have thought he was.

Utah fans still don't get it. In a discussion about Whittingham leaving Utah for BYU, Utah fans say that's okay. Utah has the money and conference affiliation to attract a big name replacement......to finish as co-champ and play in the Vegas Bowl.

After a long interviewing process (Reading up on guys online and watching video interviews) I have decided my order of coaches and pro/cons of each. All of course based on my opinion.

1) Kyle Wittingham
Pro's
Proven winner and strategist. Good recruiter. BYU would lose zero momentum. Can you imagine what Kyle could do with a good QB?
Con's
I would have to see Kyle in tight shirts and pants. When he interviews I would have to get use to that voice. Very distinct tone and I have been trained to hate it.
2) Kalani Sitake
Pro's
He would be an all in BYU guy and players would love to play for him. Charismatic and passionate and would never use the word "Grit" Great recruiter and Would be able to get almost every Polynesian player out there. BYU guy.
Con's
Does not have HC experience and I feel there would be a large learning curve. BYU will lose a lot of games the first few years as he learns all the dynamics of a BYU head coach
3) Darrel Bevell
Pro's
A superbowl winning OC. Tanner Mangum would thrive under his tutelage and BYU offense would thrive.
Con's
Little experience as a HC. Recruiting would be a huge "?" Would his family survive the Utah bubble of criticism? Not a BYU guy.
4) Lance Anderson
Pro's
Knows how to recruit smart kids and coach a great Defense. Jumped ranks and Jim Harbough wanted him in Michigan speaks to his ability's to get [players to play hard for him.
Con's
Higher risk of handling BYU moving parts IMO. Not a BYU guy ( I Know I state this a lot but I want a long term coach who wants to be at BYU. BYU is hard place to coach and unless you like the dynamics you will not stay long)
5) Robert Anae
Pro's
We know what we will be getting from Anae. A good offense. There is a chance that he will surprise us and change some of his habits when he see's the big picture. (Not holding my breath.) In other words the Devil you know is better than the devil you don't/ BYU guy
Con's
We know what we are getting from Anae. Fan's and boosters would be calling for his head from day 1. He would have to win and get to a NY6 bowl game quick (2years) or it will be a disaster and the stadium will empty and lost interest.
6) Ken Niumatalolo
Pro's
Winning coach knows how to recruit to a difficult situation. Knows how to coach a winning football team. Good at plug and playing players and get those player playing above athletic ability. Would be able to recruit Polynesian players consistently.
Con's
Runs the triple option. ( I know people think he could coach other offenses but I don't trust it. He may try another offense for a season but as soon as it does not go the way he wants he will go with what he knows.) Triple option may be a good fit for the cougars long term but I think we would lose Tanner Mangum and I like watching passing offenses.

In the end I trust Tom Holmoe. Think he will make the best decision he possibly can.

Very high possibility for Taysom. Think Jswag may leave BYU, but not for UV. Lots of good RB options there already.

Well he could, but he would then have to sit out a year and that would effectively end his career. not the smartest move.
