I think Georgia will be surprised when a big player snatches up Richt.

I think that is the most likely scenario. Georgia axes Richt, he ends up at a decent program and continues to win 9-10 games a year. Georgia brings in a new coach and falls farther behind the SEC West than Richt ever was.

Why isn't Georgia a top job much like Alabama or Ohio State. Right in the middle of SEC country with only GT to fight for instate recruits. I would label them an under performer.

I disagree. There can only be so many elite programs in one conference when everyone plays each other. During Richt's tenure there have been juggernauts and Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, and LSU at different times. Look at Bill Snyder at Kansas State. No one would call him an underachiever. Yet in the pre-expansion era, he won the Big 12/Big 8 title exactly once. And that only happened after Nebraska and Colorado went in the crapper.

Temple's head coach, Matt Rhule, has done an incredible job turning the Owls into something. Seriously, when has Temple ever been relevant in football? He might have some new opportunities soon, too.

I think Nebraska gives Eichorst and Riley a mulligan for 2015. But if the corner isn't turned in 2016, I foresee Eichorst getting the boot followed by Riley. Something similar occurred in 2007 when the AD was let go before firing the head coach. The parallels between 2003-04 and 2014-15 are disconcerting for Nebraska fans. Both Frank Solich and Bo Pelini went 9-3 before being fired only to have the new coach have a losing record the following year.

There is one important difference you left out: Pelini was kind of an a-hole who acted like a certifiable nut on the sidelines and showed open disdain for the fans at times while Solich was a beloved, longtime Nebraska assistant who by all accounts is a pretty nice guy.

The Titans have an opening. Look for Whitt to be a candidate, again.

Sounds like Sonny Dykes won't be back next year.

Slight correction. Nebraska went to the big 10. And that was after KSU's title.

I think what Omaha 680 was stating is that Nebraska went into the crapper in 2002; and Colorado returned to the crapper the following year in 2003 - when KSU won their only Big 8/12 title. To go back a little further, Colorado rose to prominence after Oklahoma went to the crapper. The point being is that there can only be so many juggernauts in the same conference at any one time (Oklahoma, Nebraska => Nebraska, Colorado => Oklahoma, Texas). KSU like Georgia are not necessarily underachievers unless that definition is that they are not playing at the current level of Alabama and Ohio St which is somewhat rare in itself and difficult to maintain.
