Utah used to be the king of moral victories. About 5 years ago they passed that torch to the Aggies."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Isn't that pretty much exactly what Bronco did against Boston College?Originally posted by The_Douger View PostIt was shocking. I was watching the game at work, and he punted with 4m left, and my shift ended, and I headed out to the car. The stream I was watching must have been a few minutes behind, because once I got in the car there was 90 seconds left and they were talking on the radio about how weird it was he had basically conceded the game.
Could you imagine if Bronco did that? BYU fans would be livid."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

I always enjoy reading this thread after the game is over. Especially this year where we play crappy til the 4th qtr. I feel that most fans would be more excited about this year and what BYU is doing if the Utes weren't undefeated.
It really is amazing what BYU has done with all the injury's they have dealt with and the schedule they have played.
With two weeks heal up Mangum should be ready for the Nov gauntlet. I'm excited to see what this team can do. Go Cougs.( FYI I most likely wrote that incoherently and will be properly corrected forthwith. Thanks)

I have listened to the last few Bronco after game shows. He has gotten much better when it comes to talking about the fans.Originally posted by imanihonjin View PostBronco still whines about being booed his first game as a head coach. The BC game was that game if I remember correctly.
As I mentioned last year and still feel the same way this year he has either learned, gotten humbled or is facing reality, but his approach has gotten much better in a lot of area's.
The attitude change I think has helped to set us up for a very good year this year and in the future.

I think Bronco is just happier when he is doing what he loves which is coordinating the defense. I also have a great deal of empathy for his disdain of college football fans in general and BYU fans specifically.Originally posted by byu71 View PostI have listened to the last few Bronco after game shows. I still hope he finds a way to land Wayne Kirby. It will make my personal investment go up and it will also be an indicator that they are finding a way to comfort the LDS kid that is probably not likely to be an RM and who finds BYU a bit intimidating.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

I can't remember where I saw it, but I think he was challenged by the team psychologist or somebody to improve his attitude about the fans(?) or maybe it was his approach with the media. Anyway- I see a night and day difference, too. I don't know if that has anything to do at all w the strides the team is making-- I tend to think it is the stability of the coaching staff right now plus the added attention to defense Bronco's involvement as DC has lent, but the image is certainly more positive, which I think does help with visibility, recruiting, etc.
He was even a bit lighthearted about the ass kicking we got at Michigan the week after when talking about prep for ECU, which I think is the correct approach. That sour and dour stuff is contagious, and it is awesome to see the team pick itself up after getting down again and again. Now to learn to stomp on the opponent's throat out the gate like we used to do around 06/09."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"
