His comment is so ridiculous that it doesn't deserve a response. Of course this is a retaliatory tactic to Utah cancelling the BYU game to argue otherwise is absurd.

Maybe the stated reason for cancelling the BYU game was so obviously false, that the cancellation of the game confirmed the legislature's suspicions about Utah's plan wrt to rest of the state University system. If Hill were smart, he would have cancelled the BYU series and kept playing the other state schools. But in what seems to be a recurring theme: Chris Hill isn't as smart as advertised.

However, if they gave a shit about Utah playing instate public schools they would have done something years ago when Utah cancelled those games, not when they cancelled a game with their favorite private institution. The audit is their way of trying to strong arm the Utes into playing BYU because they know they can't mandate the Utes to play a private religious institution.

I would bet the legislature could mandate that the University of Utah act in a responsible manner in all its affairs and dealings.

I agree that Chris Hill isn't smart. He did a terrible job with handling the cancelling of the basketball series. I can't imagine it being handled worse than the way Utah did.

So the legislature is out of bounds giving any consideration to the LDS church or other private institutions in Utah?
