I somehow came across this "congratulatory" tweet and enjoyed it. I may or may not have been reminded of one of our old friends...

Are you familiar with the Utah football under Kyle Whittingham? It is a longstanding problem that they don't know shit about quarterbacks. For example, Huntley looked okay at Utah, now he is an NFL backup. It doesn't matter who is under center for the Utes, they aren't going to be good.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

BYU as the P12/P12 south champ is funny - which is why countless national sportswriters have been making the joke.
Utah fans being upset by the claim is orders of magnitude funnier. Especially the ones who claim that it is offensive because of all of the pain carried by the Utah fan base this year. Or the ones who methodically describe what steps are involved in winning a real championship. Or the ones who claim that all of the P12 teams that byu beat this year are weak (self awareness!). It is pretty funny and it isn't just BYU fans-a smattering of national press folks have been stoking it all year. I don't think they are doing so for BYU's benefit as much to bury the Pac in favor of their Southern or Midwestern conferences which they very much prefer, but BYU gets collateral benefit. So I say God Bless 'Em! When I was reading Utefans I noticed it was really starting to even get under the skin of the ever unflappable Ma'ake.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View Post1) BYU fans doing the whole PAC 12 S champions is dumb

I get, and even agree with, why Utah refused to put enormous, or any, effort into playing BYU on rivalry weekend. With their ascension to the Pac they wanted to create a narrative that Utah moved beyond BYU. To be honest, they had. However, the past two years have demonstrated that BYU didn't go away and came roaring back into the national relevance conversation and very much have become an equal to Kyle's very fine football program. I consider myself a realist but I am outspokenly surprised and impressed how well Kalani and the BYU football program rode out the no mans land wandering of independence. I know right now is not a great time in rivalry emotions for the Utes with not just Utah, but their entire conference, holding onto Y'zguy's belt loop as he and Coug trade Pac 12 teams back and forth for a pack of Pall Malls or unfiltered Camels, but it is time to return the Holy War to rivalry weekend. Both programs deserve to be included in the pantheon of great rivalry games!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Amen. I understand the reason why the PAC 10 eschewed BYU, but from an athletics, ratings, and even academics standpoint, it was a really dumb decision, as BYU is Colorado's (not to mention at least half of the then-existing PAC 10's) superior. And the BYU/Utah rivalry was consistent with the other rivalries in terms of proximity and history. But now I'm really happy BYU is where it's at and where it's heading.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View Post

And come to think of it, isn't Utah 0-1 in the MWC? So by that argument, who exactly is last in the MWC?τὸν ἥλιον ἀνατέλλοντα πλείονες ἢ δυόμενον προσκυνοῦσιν
