BYU will score more than 13 points.

BYU will also run the ball effectively as the O-line of this team will be a strength.

Bronco Mendenhall is the best defensive coach in the country, no that is not hyperbole. With Bronco running the defense, this team will be very good defensively. They will be stout against the run but at time susceptible to the deep ball. I expect them to bottle up Nebraska for the majority of the game, possibly getting beat over top once or twice.

My prediction is 31-14 BYU. Eff the cornholes.
I don't understand how my analysis didn't match my prediction. Maybe I should have made it clearer that I see both offenses struggling. In my view, the match-up in the trenches of BYU O-line vs Nebraska D-Line/LBs favors Nebraska. I don't think BYU will be able to run effectively unless Taysom is carrying it and I think Anae will limit his opportunities. Nebraska also has an advantage with their DBs against Taysom and BYU's WRs. BYU might score 31 on Nebraska if they had Melvin Gordon. They don't even have Jamaal Williams.

I just got spousal clearance to make the trip with my son. I'm a little nervous about getting two tickets from scalpers. Isn't there a thread on the best techniques?

I am going. My best friend lives in Des Moines, so I'm going there and we're going fishing on Friday, drive down that night to Lincoln.

I think BYU is going to win.

If we were playing UTEP or even New Mexico State University, I'd definitely be there.

I'm heading out on Thu and flying to Kansas City (get some great BBQ, see some church history sites, direct and much cheaper flight from PDX) and then driving over.

Still have to buy tickets and I'm watching Stubhub. I would have had tickets already through a player, but that player got engaged and now the fiance's family wants the tix.

Would welcome any recommendations for Omaha or Lincoln food. After stuffing my face with KC BBQ I'm not sure I'll want to hit Gorat's, but maybe. Maybe I'll run into Buffet and ask him what he thinks about the latest stock market gyrations (probably just tell me to be greedy when others are fearful and fearful when others are greedy).

I'm starting to sip a little bit of the Kool-Aid, though. I think we will win.

I decided a few weeks ago to forego this game in favor of the big house. I am now somewhat regretting my decision to limit myself to just one. Just checked flights to Lincoln or Omaha, and the cheapest is about $1,100 for two, so a little pricey. I'll probably see if I can get something with Priceline in a couple of days for $500 or $600.

I tend to agree. Now, we've heard it before and it turned out to be untrue, but one of the strengths appears to be the receiving corps.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

EDIT: Never mind, I am a moron. The nonstop was to Kansas City, not St. Joseph.

If you are flying in and out of KC, Omaha is a bit out of the way. But just in case you want to make the trip over to Omaha...

Best prime steakhouse is 801 Chophouse. The locals will try to say it's Omaha Prime but I disagree. For more affordable steak there is the Drover or Anthony's. For Italian steakhouses it's Picolo Pete's. There used to be a good rivalry between Picolo Pete's and Caniglia'a but Caniglia's closed unfortunately.

Downtown my two favorite places are Blue Sushi and M's Pub. A sushi place in Omaha you say? I know, but it's really good. My wife grew up in socal and is a sushi lover and really misses Blue.

If you want some really local, North Omaha hole in the wall goodness, I can't recommend the Rice Bowl (Chinese), Time Out (Fried Chicken), or Big Mama'a Kitchen (soul food) enough. Time out is still the best fried chicken I've ever had. If you go get the turnover as well. All three of these places are located reasonably close to the airport. Big Mama's and Time Out aren't in the best areas so be aware of that but I lived and went to church in the neighborhood for 4 years. Big Mama's is in some old school and has really odd hours so be aware of that if you decide to try it.

There you go, more Omaha restaurant recommendations than anyone ever cared to have.

Edit: my wife wants me to mention Pitch Pizza and Amsterdam in the dundee (midtown 50s) area. Amsterdam is a hole in the wall middle eastern place. Stay away from the falafel but the kabob is great.

                                That goes without saying.
