I don't know, but I'm certainly not the only one that cared about the other bowls. And I'm not talking about the Meineke Car Care Bowl or the Beef O'Brady Bowl. I'm talking about the BCS bowls. I don't want to watch any of the non-championship bowls now that the playoff is here.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

An eight team playoff could be very expensive for a fan. Not everyone has HFN money or time. Three days of hotels and a flight into Orlando followed the next week by three days of hotels and a flight into Dallas and lastly a flight into New Orleans with three or four days of hotels could be a typical scenario. I guess bb fans do it but I'm not sure how much people are willing to pay to watch their team win a NC.

Why would a fan be required to travel to all three games?Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostAn eight team playoff could be very expensive for a fan. Not everyone has HFN money or time. If anything it would let more fans experience the playoffs.Originally posted by beefytee View PostI don't get this argument either. I seem to remember DDD making similar arguments a few years ago. Is the argument that the playoff games won't sell out? I'm fairly confident they would.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

As others point out, the other bowls have been dead for years. However despite my best designs I still care when BYU plays no matter how bad the bowl.Originally posted by falafel View PostI enjoy the playoffs, but it really did crush the rest of the bowls. I don't give a crap about any of the non-playoff bowls now. I didn't expect that.Last edited by Topper; 01-02-2015, 09:39 AM."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

I just want to watch more playoff games today. Those games were great.Originally posted by falafel View PostI don't know, but I'm certainly not the only one that cared about the other bowls. This has to get bigger.
We'll probably see most of these games coming before Jan 1st in the future if hte ratings are crap over time for the games today that mean nothing. Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

Of course. And those with means would do so. And those with means to attend only one game could do that. It's just not a viable argument against a deeper playoff, IMO. And yes, I realize that these games are being played in locations where most fans would have to travel, but there are plenty of ways to get creative and work around these issues, if they even are issues.Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostNothing says you would have to attend all three games but it would be fun to follow the run all the way.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

I like four because it maintains the regular season being important, and were there really 2 more deserving teams this year if you added TCU and Baylor to the mix? 16 will be too many even though it will be awesome. Then the regular season doesn't matter for a lot of teams because the playoff gets too diluted.Originally posted by clackamascoug View PostI think 4 teams is just right. Most years there will be two/three really good teams, and a also ran. Let them duke it out. From a business perspective it's always better to have someone banging on the door to get into the party, rather than letting in the also-rans who would dilute the playoff product. If it's got to be 4 or 8 teams, 4 will always be a better choice.
I'd even be happy to go for six and let the top 2 have byes or something. Maybe that's too much to ask. Will donate kidney for B12 membership.
