I'll never understand why so many guys want to drop the ball right on the goal line like that. What's the hurry to drop that ball? Coaches should tell guys to hang onto that ball until the ref takes it from them -- good hell just keep the ball during your celebration and take it to the sideline with you as a souvenir.

I always thought a funny celebration if you were way in the clear would be to set the ball on top of the pilon instead of running into the end zone. It would be a TD the instant the ball touched the pilon so no fumble risk. Would probably also be a celebration penalty.

One of the greatest plays ever.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Question for rules buffs: the Oregon defender who picked up the fumble first voluntarily ran out of bounds in the end zone before returning and being the first player to touch the ball. Does illegal touching not apply on fumbles?

Sure enough. Their freshman QB is putting up better numbers than Braxton ever did. College is fun that way; a good enough system with disciplined players is hard to beat. College coaches who expect their QBs to make a bunch of NFL-style reads are doing it wrong.

It may never matter, but really stupid decision by Sparty not to go for 2 there.

OSU has now scored more points against MSU in this game than Michigan has in the Brady Hoke era.

Losing their starting(?) QB didn't help either. Oregon wasn't doing well against him.

If they miss, they are down 12, which is 2 TD's. With the xp, they are within 11 and that's a TD and a FG.
