Kyle, you are so freaking predictable with your fake punts. I love it.

i know that is what they are thinking. But that is old-school, low probability thinking, devoid of real strategy. It's like a basketball coach who wants lots of 2 pt jumpers because they are higher percentage shots than 3 pointers. They are going to need a 2pt conversion at some point. Going for it on the first touchdown means 1) you might catch the other team off guard a bit, and 2) if you don't get it, you know you can't settle for a FG. Knowing what you need is more important that trying to keep hope alive.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostIf they miss, they are down 12, which is 2 TD's. With the xp, they are within 11 and that's a TD and a FG.
Mathematically, going for 2 there gives you a slightly higher chance at winning.Last edited by Donuthole; 11-08-2014, 08:35 PM.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

I can get behind that line of thinking. I guess the point is, the decision wasn't devoid of any sort of logic, so "really dumb" wasn't a good description.Originally posted by Donuthole View Posti know that is what they are thinking. Any decision which decreases your chances of winning, especially in the 4th quarter, is a really dumb decision. I stand by the description. The decision wasn't devoid of all logic, just devoid of any good logic.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostI can get behind that line of thinking.
