I used to think when a recruit said he was praying on it I felt like it was a lock for us. Ever since Ngata not only prayed earnestly but even met with President Monson and then chose Oregon, I have decided praying means nothing as far as an indicator they are going where I would like them to be. Apparently even God doesn't think if someone can to BYU they should go to BYU.

We need to take this up with the big boss.

I'm not saying it didn't happen. Because I actually have no idea.

But how does the friend know Bills was being harangued? Could he hear the other side of the conversation or just Bills?

No matter which school he chooses, I could see the other 2 attempting to sway him rather than just saying "Hey, good luck at ______" So - I suppose I'm just saying I see an attempt at persuasion as different than a harangue.

I mean - I would suppose that all harangues are also attempts at persuasion. But I don't believe all attempts at persuasion are harangues.

And now I've already talked about it more than it probably deserves.

As long no one told Bills he is disappointing millions of Mormons if he were to choose Utah.

Actually - I think that BYU coaches should switch it up and tell players picking Utah that they are making 35K anti-Mormons happy.

Often, the initial promptings and inclinations are the best ones. Haloti Ngata should have followed his instincts and stayed with the school he first gave his verbal commitment to.

I went to look at who Utah's DL coach was because I was curious. I noticed that Guy Holliday still has his BYU tie on Utah's website.

How about the Utah head to head.

A waste of my time, I know, but I was really bothered by the way Hans Olsen has been talking about BYU and Utah recruiting the last couple days. He's going way overboard trying to minimize what BYU is doing. Saying he watched film of Haws beating up on 150-lb D-lineman and thought it was ridiculous, and then praising film for Utah's QB recruit. He's been making the rounds of each of 1280's shows spouting the line that whatever BYU is doing now doesn't really matter because they are in such a hole they can't dig out of because of all Utah's advantages. And that Utah has been taking all the best recruits.

So I figured I'd at least look up some real data. Using ESPN's site going back to 2012 (the last year ESPN had data) this is how "lopsided" the head-to-head recruiting has been between BYU and Utah with all of Utah's recruiting advantages and all of BYU's horrible recruiting efforts:

2012:
