Bronco's feelings hurt, may buy more pizza

    http://www.deseretnews.com/article/8...-Virginia.html

Following Monday's practice, he labeled injured players such as running back AlgernonBrown, offensive lineman BraydenKearsley, linebacker BronsonKaufusi and defensive lineman MarquesJohnsonall as being "hopeful" for Saturday's game.
Not a revenge game, but looking forward to revenge

Virginia is an improved team, and playing well, and we are a good team, and playing well, so man, I think it is going to be a great game. I am looking forward to it," Mendenhall said, downplaying the revenge element after UVa upset BYU 19-16 last year in Charlottesville.
I wouldn’t say a revenge game, but I would say it has a sore place for a lot of us," Peck said.
Said Mathews: "They took it away from us last year, so this game is a special game for us."
    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Good for Bronco not relying on the revenge angle. We all saw how well that worked out for Texas.

I couldn't understand the last question. Who was he talking about?

"Because they beat Louisville, we are more focused," receiver Mitch Mathews said. "I am glad that they played well and that they won, so we could take this week more seriously."

Hopefully that was a good wake up for them to know they have to keep the momentum going at all times.

Locals don't have a lot of confidence in UVa

                  http://www.dailyprogress.com/cavalie...a4bcf6878.html

Complicating the matter is that BYU’s strength just happens to be perhaps Virginia’s biggest weakness. The Cavaliers, while making strides offensively, still rank woefully low nationally in moving the football, particularly on the ground: No. 93 out of 125 FBS teams.
Meanwhile, the Cougars are one of the best in the country at stopping the run and have been for quite some time.
This poses a problem for Virginia’s offense, which hasn’t provided much pizzazz over the past three seasons. During last year’s 2-10 record, the Cavaliers were 109th in the country in scoring (19.8), 89th in total offense, No. 81 in passing and 76th in rushing.Even though the Cavaliers have gotten off to a 2-1 start against three ranked opponents, they have struggled offensively: No. 105 in total offense, No. 73 in scoring, 96th in passing, 93rd rushing. UVa is 65th in Red Zone percentage offense, thanks in part of place-kicker Ian Frye’s strong leg.
Virginia’s top rusher, Parks, a 1,000-yard rusher a year ago, ranks but No. 102 nationally in that category, while his two quarterbacks – starter Greyson Lambert and backup Matt Johns – rank No. 128 and No. 165 respectively in the country in total offense.
                  Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

What are they talking about getting off to a 2-1 start against three ranked opponents. Is Richmond ranked at the FCS level?

I'll give him that; it's certainly an honest response. I'm just not sure why Mitch (or anyone else associated with BYU football) wouldn't take a team that beat them last year seriously regardless of the Louisville result. Not only that, but this is BYU's singular opportunity to stick it to a team from a conference that basically proclaimed they were not worth playing in the future. BYU teams tend to give off a perception that they lose focus, and I think a quote like that underscores such a perception. Also, before anyone insinuates otherwise, my vag feels fine. I'm sure they'll come out fired up. Just found it to be a weird comment.
